XpressBio HBsAg Hepatitis B surface antigen Instruction manual

The XpressBio HBsAg ELISA kit is used to qualitatively detect the presence of Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in human serum or plasma. This kit is based on the principle of a double antibody sandwich immunoassay, which utilizes polystyrene microwell strips pre-coated with monoclonal antibodies specific to HBsAg. Patient's serum or plasma is added to the microwell, and a secondary antibody conjugated with horseradish peroxidase (HRP) directed against a different epitope of HBsAg is added during incubation. The specific immunocomplex formed in the presence of HBsAg is captured on the solid phase. After washing to remove unbound materials, chromogen solutions are added, and in the presence of the bound HRP-conjugate, the chromogenic substrate is hydrolyzed to produce a blue color. The blue color turns yellow after stopping the reaction with sulfuric acid. The amount of color can be measured and is proportional to the amount of antigen in the sample. This kit is intended for research use only.

Frequently asked questions

The XpressBio HBsAg ELISA kit is used to qualitatively detect the presence of Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in human serum or plasma.

This kit is not intended for diagnostic use, as it is not validated for clinical use.

The kit is based on the principle of a double antibody sandwich immunoassay, which utilizes polystyrene microwell strips pre-coated with monoclonal antibodies specific to HBsAg.

This kit is not intended for diagnostic use and may not be able to detect very rare HBV mutants or subtypes. Antigens may be undetectable during the early stages of the disease or in some immunosuppressed individuals.

Store the components of the kit between 2-8°C, do not freeze, protect from contamination, and use fresh distilled or deionized water before use.
