If a 'B' is displayed on the left side of the screen, you need to change the battery. Remove the battery cartridge and replace it with a Lithium 3V CR2032 battery. Changing the battery will automatically reset the indicator to factory defaults.

The Starrett 5001B Series calipers have 5 modes: SET, REF I & REF II, PRESET, MIN / MAX, and TOLERANCE. Each mode offers different functionalities for taking measurements.

You can transmit data to various peripherals through a traditional wire connected to the Opto-RS232 output port or by connecting to a Starrett DataSure® Wireless Data Collection System using a Cat.1500-3-1N end node.

REF I and REF II modes allow you to set up two independent preset values for calibration. These preset values can be recalled and used in various measurement modes.
