Oregon Scientific BAR339DP User manual

Oregon Scientific BAR339DPU is a weather station with a digital clock that projects the time, outdoor temperature, and weather forecast. It can also track indoor/outdoor temperatures and display them with a selectable unit (°C/°F). The weather forecast feature provides a 12-24 hour prediction with 75% accuracy within a 30-50 km radius.

GETTING STARTED
Batteries serve as a back-up pow er supply. For
continuous use of projector and backlight, install
adapter.

Plug ACIDC adaptor into socket. Make sure the
adapter is not obstructed and is easily accessible
to the unit.

To completely disconnect from power, the adapter
should be disconnected from the main unit.
MEANING
Main unit is searching
for sensor(s)
NOT The main unit and adapter should not be
exposed to wet conditions. No objects filled with liquid,
such as vases, should be placed on the main unit and
adapter.

OTE Batteries should not be exposed to excessive
heat such as sunshine or fire.
NOTE After every sensor initialisation, the main unit
may take up to 30 minutes to receive the time from
the sensor.

Slide open the battery door.
Slide channel sw itch to channel 1.
Select EUIUK. (RTHN3 18D only)
Insert the battery, matching the polarities(+ 1-).
Press RESET after each battery change.
Close the battery door.
Press and hold SEARCH on main unit to initiate
search and start receiving time and temperature
data from the sensor.
8. Secure the sensor in the desired location using the
wall mount hole or double sided adhesive tape.

NOTE Use alkaline batteries for longer usage and
consumer grade lithium batteries in temperatures
below freezing.

This product is designed to synchronize its clock
automatically w ith a clock signal received from
provided remote sensor.

To enable I disable signal receptio n:
Press and hold

Fo r b est results:
Place the sensor w ithin 30 m ( 100 ft) of the main
unit.
Place the sensor out of direct sunlight and
moisture.
Posit ion the sensor so that it faces the main unit,
minimizing obstructions such as doors, w alls and
furniture.
Place the sensor in a location w ith a clear view to
the sky, aw ay from metallic I electronic objects.
Posit ion the sensor close to the main unit during
cold w inter months as below -freezing temperatures
may affect battery performance and signal
transmission .

NOTE Reception takes 2-10 minutes. If the signal is
w eak, it can take up to 24 hours to get a valid signal.

NOTE Clock reception is dependent on the successful
transmission of data from remote sensor. If ~ is

iTIP. The transmission range may vary depending
on many factors. You may need to experiment w ith
various locations to get the best results.

MANUALLY SET CLOCK
To set the clock manually, disable the clock signal
reception first.
1. Press and hold CLOCK.
2. Press .A.1 Y to change the settings.
3. Press CLOCK to confirm.
To activate I deactivate alarm:
1. Press ALARM to display alarm time.
2. Press ALARM again to turn alarm on I off.
To silence the alarm:
•
Press SNOOZE to silence it for 8 minutes
OR
•
Press any key to turn the alarm off and activate it
again after 24 hours.
The settings order is: time zone, 12124 hr format,
hour, minute, year, calendar mode (month - day I day
- month), month, day and language.
BAR339DP: Time zone offset sets the clock +I- 23
hours from the received clock signal time.
WEATHER FORECAST
NOTE If you enter+ 1 in the time offset setting, this will
give you your local time plus one hour. If you are in the
US (BAR339DPAonly) set the clock to:
0 for Pacific time
+2 for Central time
This product forecasts the next 12 to 24 hours of
weather within a 30-50 km (19-31 mile) radius with a
75% accuracy.
+1 for Mountain time
+3 for Eastern time

To set the alarm:

To project weather forecast and time:
 Press SNOOZE when PROJECTION switch is in
OFF mode
To toggle between indoor I outdoor temperature
display:
Press TEMP.

To toggle temperature unit:
Press 0C I 0F.
Slide PROJECTION switch to CLOCK mode for
continuous display.
To auto-scan between sensors:
Press and hold TEMP.
To project weather forecast and activate toggling
display of time I outdoor temperature:
 Slide PROJECTION switch to AUTO mode.
To deactivate auto-scan function:
Press TEMP.
To deactivate projection:
 Slide PROJECTION switch to OFF mode.
To toggle between current, minimum and maximum
records for indoor I outdoor:
Press MEM repeatedly.
To focus image:
 Turn FOCUS wheel.
NOTE If projection is illuminated, do not look directly
into the projector.
To clear records:
Press and hold MEM.
BACKLIGHT
PROJECTION
To activate continuous backlight:
• Slide LIGHT - ON I OFF switch to ON.
This unit projects time, outdoor temperature information
and weather forecast for your convenience.
To deactivate continuous backlight:
• Slide LIGHT - ON I OFF switch to OFF (Press
SNOOZE to activate LED backlight for 5 seconds).
NOTE Install adapter to use projection feature.
To lip projected image by 1800:
 Press SNOOZE.
RESET
Press RESET to return to the default settings.
