Please retain these instructions for future reference. Layout • This is a self contained kit and cannot be extended. • The Microflex LED’s are mounted on a sticky tape which can be stuck to most surfaces. Warning The power supply is Double Insulated and does not require connection to an Earth circuit. The mains plug must be situated indoors (e.g. house, garage, shed) in order to protect it from the elements. The LED strips are Safety Extra Low Voltage and must not be earthed. Do not exceed the transformer load. Transformers may require a minimum load to operate. Please read these instructions carefully before commencing any work. Always disconnect the transformer from the mains when installing or maintaining this system. This unit must be fitted by a competent and qualified electrician. This system contains non-replaceable parts and cannot be serviced. If damage occurs the part should be scrapped. Install in accordance with IEE Wiring regulations and current Building Regulations. This system operates at Safety Extra Low Voltage (12V), via a transformer. Never connect the light fittings directly to the mains without using a transformer. Ensure that the supplied transformer is used. This product cannot be dimmed. This product is rated at IP20. Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Check with your local authority or retailer for recycling advice. • The Microflex LED’s can be shortened to a minimum of 100mm or multiples of 100mm. • Plan the desired layout of this fitting carefully, ensuring the cables will reach the distance between the power supply and the Microflex LED position. • Avoid locating any cables in positions that would cause a hazard. Position cables and Microflex LED's away from areas where they may be at risk from being cut, trapped or damaged. • Cables in walls must be protected using suitable conduit or plastic trunking. • This product has no special protection against the ingress of moisture. Basic Installation • Position the plug- in transformer next to the indoor mains outlet socket that the system will connect to. Do not plug-in at this stage. • Cut using a sharp pair of scissors. Do not cut anywhere else on the strip as this may cause the Microflex strip to stop working. • After deciding the layout of the Microflex strip, ensure that the cable can connect when in the desired position. • Connect the power supply connector to the connector on the Microflex strip. • It is possible for the Microflex strip to be shortened. This can be done in multiples of 100mm. Look for the line on the strip with four copper pads, as shown below.
