3. Connection Setup

(Firstly, Wi-Fi antenna should be mounted on the back panel of AD200)

3.1 Using WPS Mode

Setting the security and wireless connection between Wi-Fi devices at a time 
 by pushing WPS button

After Wi-Fi Booting status (about 40 sec after power on)

(Please check if WPS function is activated on your AP)

* Once the connection succeeds, airDAC try to connect the existing network after power on

•Support searching and connecting to nearby APs

Audio Performance of DirectSound in Windows


Unlike MAC, Windows DirectSound audio performance is very poor.


Playing 1kHz 44.1KHz-sampled PCM


On Windows DirectSound Mode


On ASIO or WASAPI Mode 


As seen above FFT result by AP(Audio Precision), just playing through DirectSound
 in Windows have possibility of unexpected source quality degradation. So If you want 
 to prevent this, please setup ASIO or WASAPI on your system. Specific procedure to 
 setup will be followed. 


* It has been described assuming the use foobar2000.

Using defualt DirectSound provided in Windows, sound quality is degraded within the internal re-sampling process. To prevent this, playing through the ASIO plug-in from foobar2000 you can avoid the above sound quality degradation problem.


1. Install ASIO4ALL driver on your PC from http://www.asio4all.com/

2. Download ASIO support Component of foobar2000


www.foobar2000.org > component > ASIO support
 https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_out_asio

3. Copy the downloaded file foo_out_asio.fb2k-component to foobar2000 


component folder 


ex. C:\Program Files (x86)\foobar2000\components


4. Double clicking on the copied file will start foobar2000 and ask whether to install

WASPI? 


Using defualt DirectSound provided in Windows, sound quality is degraded within the internal re-sampling process. To prevent this, playing through the WASAPI plug-in from foobar2000 you can avoid the above sound quality degradation problem.


1. Install foobar2000 on your PC from www.foobar2000.org

2. Download WASAPI output support Component

3. Copy the downloaded file WASAPI.fb2k-component to foobar2000 component folder

4.2 Streaming music source from OSX/MAC

USB (Full-speed)

1. Connect airDAC to MAC with USB cable


2. Select audio output of MAC to ‘airDAC AD200 FS’ 


- USB default mode is Full-speed. 


- It support up tp 24 bit 96 kHz PCM. 


- This mode is for Windows user. 


3. Play music source with your preferred player (ex. foobar, JRiver and etc)


No futher settings are required.

2. Connect to your airDAC with

airDAC control

app. (Please refer to section 2)


3. Select Mac in Setup USB Connection menu


- USB wil be reset and connected as High-speed mode.

- This mode is for Mac user


- It support up tp 24 bit 192 kHz PCM 


- Caution: 


24 bit 352800Hz mode is only activated in DSD128 mode

In PCM play, no sound will be played

How to Update

1. Connect airDAC to nearby APs by WPS/SoftAP mode (please refer to section 2)


2. Connect your smartphone to the same AP

5. Select version menu on right bottom and push ‘Firmware Update’ button


(The menu is activated only airDAC device is connected through Wi-Fi)


6. If any update is available, ‘New Firmware Found’ alert will let you know. 


(Music play will be stoped)

7. Select OK, then downloading will be started.

8. After downloading is finished, confirm firware update by selecting OK.


Firmware updating process will be started.

All LEDs on your airDAC device will be blinking with
