01) Power LED
Indicates if the unit is ON.
02) Channel LED
These LEDs allow you to monitor the output of each channel.
03) Mode select indicators
Indicates which of the 4 modes is currently active.
04) Master dimmer
Controls the overall dim level of the 4 channels.
05) Background level
With this fader you can set the background level (minimum output level) of the 4 dimmer channels.
This can "soften" the chaser effects so they become less aggressive. Attention: don't set this fader to maximum, you won't be able to see the chaser patterns or set proper dimming levels for the 4 channels.
06) Program speed control
When "program speed" mode is selected, you can change the speed of the selected chaser program.
07) Power switch
Used to switch the unit ON/OFF.
08) Audio sensitivity
Used to adjust the input sensitivity of the external audio inputs. Adjust the level until the sound activated functions work nicely to the rhythm of the music.
09) Dimmer channels
These are 4 faders used to set the individual dimming levels of the 4 channels. Below each fader there’s a flash button to set the output of the corresponding channel to 100% (full) for as long as the button is pressed.
10) Program display
Shows which of the 4 modes is currently active.
11) Mode select
Used to select 1 of the 4 user modes:
Hold Dim: This mode can be used to control the dimming levels of the outputs. The 4 faders can be used to set the dimming level of each channel output individually.
Hold Sound: The Music is divided into 4 different frequency ranges (bass, middle, high, antibass).
Each of the 4 output channels will respond to a different frequency range.
Program Sound: The chaser program selected with the "program select" button will be displayed. The chaser speed is synchronised to the rhythm of the music.
Program Speed: The chaser program selected with the "program select" button will be displayed. The chaser speed can be adapted with the speed fader.

12) Program select
When you have selected 1 of the 2 program modes then you can use the program select button to choose the program you like. Nine different chaser programs can be selected. Program 0 is a random program.
13) Full switch
Use this button to set the output of the 4 channels to 100% (full) for as long as the button is pressed.
14) Standby switch
Used to cutoff (blackout) the output of the 4 dimmer channels. The 4 switch channels are not affected.
15) Speed X10
Used to multiply/divide the speed set by the speed fader by 10.

16) Analog output
Use this output to connect an additional analog dimmer pack (ie. Showtec Dim-master 6, D-pack 6)
17) Channel fuses
Each channel has its own fuse. Always replace a blown fuse with a fuse that has the same ratings
(F8A 250V 6x32mm).
18) DMX output
Use to connect the LP-416 to DMX power packs. All 4 channels are available on this output. The dimmer channels are assigned to DMX addresses 001 to 005. Please set the starting address of the connected dimmer pack to 001.
19) Audio Input
This jack accepts a line level audio input signal ranged from 100 mV to 1Vpp.

Installation
Remove all packing materials from the LP-416. Check if all foam and plastic padding is removed. Screw the equipment into a 19" rack. Connect all cables.
Do not supply power before the whole system is set up and connected properly.
Always disconnect from electric mains power supply before cleaning or servicing.
Damages caused by non-observance are not subject to warranty.
Set Up and Operation
Follow the directions below, as they pertain to your preferred operation mode.
Before plugging the unit in, always make sure that the power supply matches the product specification voltage. Do not attempt to operate a 120V specification product on 230V power, or vice versa.
Connect the device to the main power supply. The device can be sound-controlled as it is equipped with a built-in microphone.
Fixture Linking
You will need a serial data link to run light shows of one or more fixtures using a DMX-512 controller or to run synchronized shows on two or more fixtures set to a master/slave operating mode. The combined number of channels required by all the fixtures on a serial data link determines the number of fixtures the data link can support.
Important: Fixtures on a serial data link must be daisy chained in one single line. To comply with the
EIA-485 standard no more than 30 devices should be connected on one data link.
Connecting more than 30 fixtures on one serial data link without the use of a DMX optically isolated splitter may result in deterioration of the digital DMX signal.
Maximum recommended DMX data link distance: 100 meters
Maximum recommended number of fixtures on a DMX data link: 30 fixtures
Data Cabling
To link fixtures together, you must obtain data cables. You can purchase DAP Audio certified DMX cables directly from a dealer/distributor or construct your own cable. If you choose to create your own cable please use data-grade cables that can carry a high quality signal and are less prone to electromagnetic interference.

Maintenance
The operator has to make sure that safety-related and machine-technical installations are to be inspected by an expert after every year in the course of an acceptance test.
The operator has to make sure that safety-related and machine-technical installations are to be inspected by a skilled person once a year.
The following points have to be considered during the inspection:
01) All screws used for installing the device or parts of the device have to be tightly connected and must not be corroded.
02) There may not be any deformations on housings, fixations and installation spots.
03) Mechanically moving parts like axles, eyes and others may not show any traces of wearing.
04) The electric power supply cables must not show any damages or material fatigue.
The Showtec LP-416 requires almost no maintenance. However, you should keep the unit clean.
Disconnect the mains power supply, and then wipe the cover with a damp cloth. Do not immerse in liquid. Do not use alcohol or solvents.
Keep connections clean. Disconnect electric power, and then wipe the DMX and audio connections with a damp cloth. Make sure that the connections are thoroughly dry before linking equipment or supplying electric power.
Replacing the Fuse

01) Unplug the unit from electric power source .
02) Insert a screwdriver into the slot in the fuse cover. Turn the fuse holder counterclockwise. The fuse will come out .
03) Remove the used fuse. If brown or unclear, it is burned out .

Troubleshooting
This troubleshooting guide is meant to help solve simple problems.
If a problem occurs, carry out the steps below in sequence until a solution is found. Once the unit operates properly, do not carry out following steps.
No function
If the LP-416 does not operate properly, refer servicing to a technician.
Suspect four potential problem areas: the power supply, the LEDs, the fuse or the settings (return to default)
01) Power supply. Check if the unit is plugged into an appropriate power supply.
02) The LEDs. Return the LP-416 to your Showtec dealer.
03) A light effect does not respond to the LP-416: Check the DMX-address of the fixture and the controller. Make sure that they match. Make sure that the connections are correct.
04) Check if the device is switched on.
05) If all of the above appears to be O.K., plug the unit in again.
06) If nothing happens after 30 seconds, unplug the device.
07) If you are unable to determine the cause of the problem, do not open the LP-416, as this may damage the unit and the warranty will become void.
08) Return the device to your Showtec dealer.
No Response to DMX
Response: Suspect the DMX cable or connectors, a controller malfunction, a light effect DMX card malfunction.
01) Check the DMX setting. Make sure that DMX addresses are correct.
02) Check the DMX cable: Unplug the unit; change the DMX cable; then reconnect to electrical power.
Try your DMX control again.
03) Determine whether the controller or light effect is at fault. Does the controller operate properly with other DMX fixtures? If not, take the controller in for repair. If so, take the DMX cable and the light effect to a qualified technician.
