Porsche 944 keyless entry system
T-Lock is specially developed for use in Porsche cars with factory equipped electric door locks. Please read the complete installation manual before use. There may be changes in wire colour codes depending on model and build year.
T-LOCK contents
1 pcs T-Lock receiver
2 pcs T-Lock transmitters
6 pcs Scotchlok 558
1 pcs nylon strips
Double sided tape for receiver
Cable with connector
Wires for blinker connection (brown)
Installation
The factory installed control circuit for electric door locks is placed on the steering column under the dashboard. The control box is an approximately
5*10cm black box with a connector on the short end. The T-Lock receiver is to be connected there with four wires.
Preparations
Disconnect the positive battery pole to avoid damages. You may have to remove some of the sticky canvas coating on the cables to gain access to the wires. Connect all four wires according to the tables below. Use a soldering iron or the supplied Scotchlok connectors:
Place the connector on the wire and fasten the clip to fix it. (1) Fully insert second wire. (2) Connect with pliers and close the cap.
Connection
Connect according to the table:
T-Lock 944 lock control box
Black (ground)
Red (+12V)
Yellow/Black(unlock)
Yellow (lock)
Brown (pin 5)
Red (pin 6) (Red/White in some cars)
Brown/Red (pin 9)
Brown/White (pin 7)
Please observe that there are two wires connected to pin 7 and 9. Both have the same colour coding, use either of these.
Final testing
Ensure that all four wires to the T-Lock harness are connected. Reconnect the car battery.
Use a voltmeter or similar to test for +12V on the red wire, ground on black. Use a short copper wire and short the yellow wire to ground, the doors should lock. Then connect the yellow/black wire briefly to ground to see the doors unlock. Verify the correct conection of the yellow and yellow/black wires with an ohmmeter as described above.
Turn signal connection
T-Lock has the possibility to blink the direction lights when operating. One blink at lock, and two blinks when unlocking. You may use this by connecting the two extra wires to the direction light circuits in the car. Disconnect the battery first, and insert the two brown wires into the T-
Lock harness as shown. The two wires shall be placed into the two slots next to the red
thick wire. Make sure you hear the click when they are fully inserted.
The simplest way to connect to the direction light circuits is to access these wires at the Hazard light switch. Connect according to the table:
T-Lock 944 hazard switch
Brown (left blinker)
Brown (right blinker)
Black/White
Black/Green
Test the connection by measuring both of them with a voltmeter. Turn on the direction light. You should measure +12V when the light is on.
Fasten the T-Lock receiver under the dashboard with double sided tape or nylon strips. Remember to place the antenna wire freely for good reception.
Additional transmitters
Four T-Lock transmitters can be used in the same system. Registration of a fifth transmitter will overwrite the first memory position.
Do the following to store new transmitter units:
Press and hold the Store button as shown
Press one of the rubber buttons on the new remote transmitter
Release the Store button. T-Lock will blink the direction lights to indicate the registration of the new remote transmitter
Transmitter batteries
The transmitters are equipped with two batteries of type CR 2016.
Normally the batteries will last for months depending on use. Poor reception or fading blue light indicates that the batteries should be exchanged. Open the transmitter by removing the three screws. The batteries are stacked in the battery holder. Replace the batteries and make sure that both are placed with the positive pole faced up. The old batteries must be disposed of properly.
T-Lock operates on 433 MHz radio frequency and is approved for use in the Nordic countries and the European Union.
