AVID MODEL K-SWITCH POSITION MONITOR
INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
LIMIT SWITCH SETTING
1. Before removing the K-Switch cover, loosen
the cover locking screw by using a 0.050”
A/F Allen key. Remove the K-Switch cover
by turning it counter-clockwise to expose
the shaft/cam assembly.
2. To set switches, lift the bottom cam and turn
until the lower switch is activated and then
release. The spring will push the cam back
onto the splined shaft. Operate the actuator
to the opposite extreme, push down on the
top cam and turn until the upper switch
is activated.
FIELD WIRING AND ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION
NOTE
Before carrying out the electrical installation read and
understand the wiring diagram located on the inside
of the cover. The electrical ratings can be found on the
product ID label located on top of the cover.
3. Follow the wiring diagram on the inside of
the cover and confirm that this matches the
electrical switch detail on the label.
4. Connect the field wiring to the terminal
block accordingly. Ensure that when
connecting the K-Switch in hazardous
areas that only suitably approved cable
glands and blanking devices are used.
5. Once the wiring process has been
completed, thread the cover back onto the
housing making sure that the cover is fully
tightened. This will ensure that the sealing
gasket is compressed and that the flame
path is correctly engaged. Secure the cover
locking screw using the 0.050” A/F Allen key.
6. Stroke the actuator several times to ensure
correct switch operation.
