We know you will find this to be a helpful tool in your every day household cleaning. * Please see operation instructions for more information. * Retain these safety and operating instructions for future reference. IMPORTANT Before using the Kobot® for the first time, you’ll need to charge the battery completely overnight for best results. See Battery and Charging. CAUTION! Before using your Kobot® RV317, be sure to observe the following precautions: 1. The Kobot® is for indoor use only. 2. Since the Kobot® contains various electronic parts, when cleaning it, DO NOT submerge in water. You can clean the unit with a damp cloth only. 3. The Kobot® machine is not a toy. Do not allow anyone to sit or stand on the unit. Small children and pets should always be supervised when machine is cleaning. 4. Tampering with these functions may create a hazardous condition and will void your warranty. 1 www.techkomaid.com KOBOT® Cleaning and Maintenance The maintenance for the Kobot® is very simple. After each use, dispose of the cleaning sheet and clean any dirt left behind in the debris bin. You may clean the exterior by using a damp cloth only. Do not submerge in water. Cleaning Dust Bin 1. Pry off the cover with your thumbs. (See A) 2. Pull the dust bin from the unit. (See B) 3. Empty contents in to the trash. When necessary, you may need to slide the filter open and rinse the filter with plain water to clear the collected fine dust. Replace bin and shut the top cover. (See Cand D) Side Brush: To remove the side brush, firmly pluck it off and replace new side brush by fitting it back over the post and press it onto the unit. See figure J and K. Fall Prevention Light Source LED Lights : Fall Prevention Light Source - The (3) light source sensors,located underneath the unit, should be cleaned off periodically by using a damp cloth. Do not submerge the unit into water. By cleaning the sensors, this will help to ensure the sensor’s detection of stairwells or other drop offs.See figure L. Fall Prevention Light Source www.techkomaid.com 6 KOBOT” Cleaning Modes: The Kobot® can perform with different cleaning options and various movement patterns to ensure proper cleaning and room coverage. The Kobot® has 2 buttons for different cleaning options : Vacuum Plus -Vacuum and even Mop, should you choose to attach the cleaning pad, all at the same time. The robotic vacuum will begin turning debris into its bin compartment. ABlue LED light will indicate this mode. Mop Only - Eliminates use of the motor, saving the battery charge or longer mopping times. You must apply the cleaning attachment pad with a cleaning sheet. A Green LED light will indicate this mode. Carpet - When using on a carpet, please remove the “cleaning pad attachment and side brushes” to free up movement and save on battery power. When the battery power is low, the left LED shines RED. When the battery is charging, the left LED blinks RED. When the battery power is full, all LED lights will turn off. Simply press the preferred mode button, a short musical tone will sound and the Kobot® will begin to move and start cleaning. As the Kobot® encounters chair legs, furniture and other obstacles, it stops, changes direction and then continues with its cleaning pattern. It will periodically return to areas it skipped and continue on. Drop offs - When the unit is powered on, you'll notice (3) beams of red lights coming from the bottom of the unit. Depending on the Floor Type Control Switch, these digitally coded light source sensors will detect stairs or other drop offs. The RV317 will back up, maneuver away and get back to cleaning. The Kobot® will automatically perform various movement patterns during its cleaning process and will change to different movement patterns when needed to ensure room coverage. Uses Kobot®cleaning cloths (9 x 5.125) or use standard brands and cut to size with scissors. See diagrams below. Wrap the sheet evenly around the cleaning pad attachment and push the edges of the sheet into the gripping slots. Then insert the whole pad on to the unit and into the pad insert holes located under the unit.
