Once the IP address range has been set, click on the Scan button to initiate the scan function. If found, any compatible Audioscan devices will be shown in the list below. o If the associated Enabled field is set to No, this means the Audioscan is capable of running this module but the service has not been turned on in the equipment. Once the scan is completed, please select the Audioscan from the list and press the OK button. This will close the Audioscan Discovery window and return the settings back to the connection screen automatically. Note: The Audioscan Discovery tool does allow for scanning on multiple subnets. Please consult your Network Administrator before proceeding with this functionality. View Only Mode Once a remote connection has been established, see above. The operator has the option to run a view only mode. From the toolbar, select “View” then click the “View Only” to be on, click the “View Only” again to turn off this mode. If the check mark is beside the “View Only” text the mouse and keyboard inputs to the equipment will be suspended until the box is unchecked. Always On Top Mode Once a remote connection has been established, see above. The operator has the option to run the application in Always on Top mode. From the toolbar, select “View” then click the “Always On Top” to be on, click the “Always On Top” again to turn off this mode. If the check mark is beside the “Always On Top” text the remote application window will remain the top most of all open windows until the box is unchecked. Advanced Networking If a DNS entry has been created, such as axiom.audioscan.com, the connection screen will accept a fully qualified domain name. Remote operation runs on port 5900 by default. To change this value click on the link button and type the new port. Ensure the port entered here is the same port entered in the Audioscan. The remote operation module can also be used across the internet. For this to work properly a firewall / port forwarding rule will have to be added to the routers settings. Ensure the port is the same port selected in the module and Audioscan. The IP address will be the address of your Audioscan. If assistance is needed accessing the router configuration, please consult your Network Administrator. Note: With larger and more complex networks a Network Administrator will need to be involved in allowing the remote operation through the firewall.
