About the Honeywell Software Download Manager
Honeywell Software Download Manager is designed to enable easy download of files from the Honeywell Process website and
installation of the same on your local machine. It also facilitates reliable and easy download of large files supplied by
Honeywell. The Download Manager has an easy to use interface that displays the status of the download. You may suspend the
active downloads or resume downloads that have failed.
The base code for the download manager is extracted for open source and aligned it inline to the Honeywell requirement with
few extracts from the whole components

The Download Manager Window shows the download files and information about your downloads in number of columns. The
standard toolbar above the download list helps you manage your downloads.

The table below describes the Honeywell Software Download Manager window's columns.

File
The name of the file will be displayed in this column along with the status of the
downloading
Displays the size of the download file
Shows the current file size already downloaded to the destination
Shows the percentage of file size downloaded to the destination

Download Status Indicators
The download status is displayed in the Status column. The table below describes the different status that the Download
Manager displays

Downloading
When the file is currently downloading the progress displays the % incrementing under
progress column. The status column indicates the size of the file downloaded
Pause
When the pause option is selected. The download is paused till the next action is taken.
Completed
Progress
The download has completed. Once completed, the file is available in the specified
download location. If the location is not set, you will find the file in the system default
location. The % of file download indicates 100%
Shows the percentage of file size downloaded to the destination
Error occurred
An error occurred while downloading. Possible reasons for error include:

User might not have the right privileges to the download page.
The browser setting is preventing pop-up alerts and does not allow user to start
download.
The system does not have proper administrative privileges while trying to
download using Chrome or Firefox.
The maximum number of downloads have been used.

Installing the Honeywell Software Download Manager
The installation of Honeywell Download Manager requires administrative access to your computer. You will have to close all
open browser windows after the installation.
The download manager is well supported to install using Internet explorer, when you have limited administrative rights on your
system. Other browsers Chrome and Firefox are also supported. Chrome and Firefox require administrative rights to run the

download manager. In case you encounter issues with Chrome or Firefox, please refer to Download Errors with Chrome &
Firefox for resolution steps
You may be asked to update the .Net frame work based on your operating system version while installing. If your system
prompts for an update of the .Net Framework when you initiate the download manager installation, install the same.
To install the Download Manager, do the following:

On the web mail received from Honeywell , click on the links referenced with the product

You will be directed to the HoneywellProcess.com Log on page where you will have to enter the registered user name
and password, else click on register to create new profile, fill in the required details and submit

Once you have the valid username and password, the download page appears for downloading the Installer and
software

On the Download Web page, click

You will find the installer save to your laptop/desktop.

Double click on the installer and follow the steps for installation of the download manager

Close the browser window and proceed with the Software download steps
to start the downloader
Software download Steps
1.
Open the mail that you received from Honeywell.
2.
Click on the link beside the product
3.
You will be directed to the HoneywellProcess.com Log on page where you will have to enter the registered user name
and password, else click on Register to create new profile. Complete the details and click Submit.
4.
Once you have a valid username and password, the download page appears for downloading the Installer and the
software.

Click on the link under the “Software Available for Download” on
, this will enable to open the download manager
with the software to download . If the download manager is not installed you will have to follow the steps for the
installing the download manager by clicking on

The download manager appears with the download started. You can use the operation of Pause, Start while
downloading.

Features of Download Manager

Starting a new download
When you click the software link on the download page, the “Software Available for Download” on
, will
pop up with an alert asking you to confirm the download. This might take a little while to start to complete the
authentication. This delay may vary depending on the type of browser you are using

Remove a download
To remove the selected item from the list of downloads, click Remove

Pausing / suspending a download
To temporarily stop the file download until the start option is selected, click the Pause option. If you need to pause
more than one download, select the files by pressing Ctrl and select the files from the list and click Pause.

Change location of download
Location option enables user to change the path of the download files, The setting for the file path is required to be
manually done before initiating the download. If the path is changed during the download, it will take the changed
path for the next download. It will not impact the current download nor the path of its downloads.

Monitoring the download
Process column helps to monitor the download. The % complete for each download is displayed. On the other hand
the status of the download can be viewed with the action being paused (Example: start, Pause, Remove) appended
with file name as (Downloading if it downloading, Pause if is suspended, Completed if the download is complete.

Completion of the download
The completion of the download is indicated with the progress column showing as 100% and file status as completed.

Download Errors with Chrome & Firefox
Downloading error might be seen with chrome or Firefox if the user does not have proper Administrative privileges.

Changing the path for the download
The settings to change the path for the download have to be manually done before initiating the download.
If the path is changed during the download, the new path is used for the next download. This does not impact the current
download nor does the location of the download.

initiating the software download

Troubleshooting
 Error while downloading using Chrome / Firefox as the browser
If you encounter any errors while downloading especially with Chrome or Firefox, run the download manager with admin
privileges.
The below scenarios might be seen
1.
You have clicked the download link but will not be seen on the download manager. This means that chrome or Firefox
does not have the admin right. Please follow the below steps, get back to download page and click on download link
again.
2.
Using Chrome/ or Firefox browsers, if user does not have sufficient privileges when attempting download, a message,
“download manager crashed “is displayed. (i.e. Honeywell Software Downloader has stopped working)
