Overview of the vWorkspace Connector for iOS
This manual includes information on the setup and configuration of the environment required for the operation of the vWorkspace Connector for iOS.
Installing the vWorkspace Connector for iOS
The vWorkspace Connector for iOS is available as a free download from the Apple AppStore. The Connector is listed within the Business category. It can also be found by searching for vWorkspace in iTunes or directly on the iOS using the AppStore application.
TIP:
A working iTunes account is required to download the vWorkspace Connector for iOS.
Upgrading vWorkspace
If Connector Management is set up in the Management Console and suggests or enforces a minimum version, the user will be prompted to download the latest version and install it from the App Store. The user may upgrade software automatically when notified by the iOS App Store.
See the vWorkspace Administration Guide for detailed information about setting up Connector Management.
Installing an SSL Root Certificate for the
Secure Access service
To use the iOS Connector with Web Access, you do not need to take further action. If you are using a self-signed certificate, you must have a valid SSL root certificate installed on the iOS device.
The iOS supports the following certificate and identity formats:
• iOS supports X.509 certificates with RSA keys.
• The file extensions.cer, .crt, .der, .p12, and .pfx are recognized.
The iOS includes a number of trusted root certificates out of the box, a list of which can be found at: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4415
You can install an additional trusted root certificate or a self-signed root certificate created by your company.
The root certificates are saved in the iOS KeyChain for future use.
