REMOVED ROD END GREASE LINE AS IT WAS BROKEN, WHICH CAUSE THE DAMAGE TO THE BORE.
WAITED FOR CRANE. RIGGED UP CYLINDER AND ATTEMPTED TO REMOVE THE ROD END PIN. PIN
WAS SEIZED. MINE HAD PIN POUNDER ON JCB LOADER. WALKED OVER TO WELDERS SHOP AND
GRABBED MACHINE, HAD TO BOOST IT TO GET IT RUNNING. PUSHED PIN ABOUT 1/3 WAY
THROUGH. CLEANED UP FOR THE DAY AND WOULD COME BACK THE NEXT WITH A WELDER.
RECEIVED CYLINDER AT MINE WAREHOUSE.

CONTINUED TO POUND PIN. WAS WORKING SLOWLY SO KEPT AT IT UNTILL THE PIN WAS FREE. TIED
CYLINDER CLOSED. CALLED AND ORDERED CRANE. MINE NEEDED TO USE GENIE LIFT FOR ABOUT 2
HOURS. REPOSITIONED WORK EQUIPMENT FOR MORE ROOM AND BEGAN TO CLEAN UP BORE AND
EARS. CRANE ARRIVED AND REMOVED OLD CYLINDER. INSTALLED HYDRAULIC LINES AND UPPER
GREASE LINES. CONTINUED CLEANING EARS AND BORE AS WERE WAITING FOR THE LOWER PIN TO
ARRIVE VIA COURIER. PIN ARRIVED AT 6PM. KEPT CLEANING BORE UNTIL PIN FIT WITH MINIMAL
INTERFERANCE AND LITTLE PLAY. POSITIONED WORK EQUIPMENT FOR CYLINDER INSTALL.
INSTALLED PIN WITH 5 SHIMS AND INSTALLED GREASELINE. RAN MACHINE, TOPPED UP OIL.
RETURNED MINES EQUIPMENT. DELIVERED CORE CYLINDER TO MINE WAREHOUSE. BUILT UP INSIDE
OF EARS AND BORES. CLEANED UNTIL GOOD FIT. OPERATED MACHINE AS MECHAINC INSTALLED
PIN. CLEANED UP WORK AREA.

SMS EQUIPMENT
THE CUSTOMER COMPLAINED THAT THE ARM CYL ROD END GREASE LINE HAD BROKE OFF AND AS A
RESULT THE PIN AND BUSHING DID NOT TAKE GREASE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. THE
ROD END BUSHING WAS MISSING AND THERE WAS EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE ROD EYE AND ARM
EAR. WAITED FOR PICKER TRUCK AND MANLIFT TO ARRIVE. DISCONNECTED HOSES FROM THE ARM
CYL AND REMOVED PINS. ROD END PIN WAS SIEZED IN THE BORE SO HAD TO CALL REMOVED CYL
FROM UNIT, SWAPPED OVER THE PIPING AND INSTALLED THE NEW CYL WHICH WAS SUPPLIED BY
THE CUSTOMER. THE MINE SITES NIGHT SHIFT WELDER HAD TO REPAIR THE DAMAGED ARM EARS
BEFORE THE ROD END OF THE CLY WAS INSTALLED.

Disassemble excavator. Walked machine to the lay down yard. Waited a couple hours for the crane.
Service truck quit, so had to replace the alternator in it. Removed bucket from machine. Removed
stick pin and stick cylinder rod pin and lowered stick and boom to the ground. Cleaned up jobsite,
locked machine out and returned to the shop. Removed lines from boom to stick and lifted the stick to
the side. Removed lift cylinder bottom pin and lifted them up and chained them to the boom. Removed
all the hydraulic hoses from machine to the boom. Removed the boom pins and lifted off the boom and
set it to the side. Removed fire suppression hoses off the counterweight. Removed bolts out of the
counterweight. lifted off the counterweight and put it to the side.

Repair swing drive leak. Travel to site. Contacted Randy White the foreman. Inspected around swing
drives and found no leaks. Checked fluid level and found nothing visible on stick. Called lube truck and
had them filled. Found a hose on the pilot filter housing leaking. Had a new one made up at Bosch
Hydraulics. Installed new hose and noticed pilot filter was loose, so tightened it. Checked for leaks,
none visible. Back to shop.

Replace Muffler.
Work Performed:
Drove to the site,signed in at dispatch and contacted Larry the shop foreman at the mine and got the
machines location. Filled out a JHA and began work. Removed the fire suppression lines and engine
covers in order to gain access to the muffler. Found the muffler had almost a full circle cut/ blown out
the side facing the radiator. Removed the muffler and associated hardware. Noticed exhaust manifold
is cracked in the middle, called Kevin and notified him of this, it wasn't leaking and had no affects on
machine operation. While installing the new muffler I bumped into a coolant line off the water pump
which split due to age. Repaired the line immediately, coolant level was ok. Reassembled machine,
checked fluid levels and ran machine, there were no exhaust leaks and machine ran fine.

Change out turbocharger. Travelled to job site and found engine smoking and losing oil. Changed
outer air filter as it was heavy with dirt. Added 20 litres engine oil. Cleaned engine breather. Ran
machine and found oil coming out of the compressor muffler joint. Shut down tagged out. Drove out to
meet Larry and got new turbo. Removed old turbo, cleaned lines and mating surfaces, and
dissassembled old turbo to muffler joint, cleaned it and put it on new turbo. Loosened turbine and
compressor clamps to align turbo to fit machine. Installed new turbo and torqued all mounting bolts to
spec. Cleaned and put never seize on all mounting bolts. In removing exhaust, found compressor
wheel shaft broken and laying in the muffler. Tightened all clamps, cleaned and installed turbo oil
supply and drain lines, installed new gaskets, installed lines onto turbo. Found oil in the intake line, so
cleaned as much as possible out of it. Installed hose from turbo to air filter, tightened up clamps. Ran
machine, tightened up loose clamps, no apparant leaks. Residue oil still burning off, most smoke
coming from muffler. Cleaned up, talked to foreman. Travelled from site.

Removed hose and brought it into city to Bosch to have new one made.
Drove back, installed hose, topped up hydraulic oil and checked all fluid levels.
Ran machine and found noise when hydraulics are loaded. Pressures from onboard computer were
good.

WOC53117 - TROUBLESHOOT AUTO LUBE SYSTEM.

Troubleshoot auto lube system. Pushed the auto lube button and system would pressure up to 2000
psi and shut off. The power would shut right off with it. Checked fuse in controller box and it was fine.
No other circuit breakers or fuses in system.
Tested for power at autp lube control box. No power and no continuity on feed wire. Ran new wire and
it popped the main breaker. Breaker wouldn,t reset. Finally got breaker to reset. It kept opening up
the circuit, so disconnected all circuit breakers to locate which circuit had the issue. Shut off the
master switch and the key, reinstalled the wires, and all circuits worked fine. Waited for electrician to
come and repair 2 way and GPS system.

install gear off old compressor onto new one. Torqued mounting nut to 150 ft.lbs. with blue locktite.

Repair A.C. system. Repair horn. Drive to site and waited for machine. Hooked up A.C. guages. Clutch
circuit not working. Evacuated system, removed belt and compressor. Left machine so it could be run.
Tried to drain air tank and nothing came out. Removed both lines on top of air compressor, and
nothing coming out.
Installed new A.C. compressor. Tested clutch. Replaced o-rings on lines, changed the receiver dryer,
and evacuated the system. Replaced shraeder valve. Charged system and it blew down to 0 degrees
celcius.

Escorted machine to the pit area, stopped at pit bottom til blasting was completed.
Observed machine in operation, ran well.

PAINTED UNIT #'S ON MACHINE. REPLACE LEAKING HOSE ON TOP OF SWING DRIVE. REPAIRED AIR
HOR NOT WORKING. BEGAN TO INSTALL RADIO BUT CURRENT SET UP IS 24 VOLT. WE ONLY HAVE
12 VOLT RADIOS HERE, ORDERED A 24 VOLT RADIO.
APR 05, 10 - MINOR REPAIRS AND OUTSHEET INSPECTION - KEVIN L
CHECKED FOR LEAK AT PUMP DRIVE AREA. FOUND PRESSURE PORT FITTING LEAKING. TRIED TO
TIGHTEN IT. STILL LEAKING. NEED TO REMOVE AND REPLACE 0-RING. I PUT A TAG ON THE
FITTING TO EASILY IDENTIFY IT.

CHECKED FOR LEAKS AT PUMP DRIVE AREA. FOUND HOSE LEAKING, HOSE WAS BLOCKED AT ONE
END AND WAS FOR SOME OTHER ATTACHMENT. REMOVED HOSE AND CAPPED FITTING. ALSO
REPAIRED LEAKING PRESSURE PORT FITTING. DIAGNOSED AIR LEAK, FOUND RELAY VALVE
LEAKING. DISMANTLED AND REBUILD VALVE AND RE-INSTALLED, RECHECKED, OK. REMOVED
RADIO AND REPLACED, NEEDED TO INSTALL CONVERTER.

PERFORMED OUTSHEET INSPECTION. CHECKED AND REPAIRED PUMP DRIVE LEAKS AND RECHECKED
OK. ADJUSTED TRACK TENSION. CLEANED BATTERY CONNECTIONS AND INSTALLED BATTERY HOLD
DOWN. REPAIRED WIRING AT BASE OF BOOM. REPAIRED NUMEROUS WIRE CONNECTORS.
REPAIRED RELIEF VALVE BY PASSING (BROKEN WIRE AT PLUG). REPLACE R/R SPEAKERS AND
INSTALLED PANELS. REPAIRED OIL LEAK AT ENGINE OIL FILTER (TIGHTENED). REPAIRED BENT
LATCH ON COOLANT OVERFLOW JUG ACCESS DOOR.

CRACKED. CLEAN NEW PINS AND PIN BORES ON BOOM FOR BOOM CYLINDERS. HEAT BASE PIN
AND TRY TO INSTALL NEW BUSHING. COULD NOT, FAULTY SEAT BUSHING WITH TOOLS ON HAND.

LIFT BOOM AND REALISED BELT WASN'T SAME. WAIT TO BRING SAME BELT CRANE GUYS. INSTAL
BOOM AND COMPLETED LIFT CYR INSTALLATION. CLEAN WORK AREA AND TOOLS.
* INSTALL BOOM BASE PIN BUSHINGS. BUFF RHS BUSHING UNTIL PIN FIT THROUGH . CLEAN BASE
PIN BASES ON SWING FRAME. MOUND RH BOOM CYL TO SWING FRAME. MOUNT BOOM. HOOK UP
BOOM CYLINDERS TO BOOM. CLEAN UP AROUND UNIT.

OVER. REPAIR BOTH SUCTION LINES. TROUBLESHOOT BOOM LIGHTS. INSTALL ISOLATION LOCK

FREE SEIZED BOLTS FROM MANIFOLDS MOUNTING BASES. INSTALL REMAINING HARDWARE.
INSTALL CRACKED MUFFLER, BOLTED TO TURBO ONLY NOT MOUNTED. NEEDS REPAIR AND GASKET.
INSTALL DUST SEALS ON ARM CYLINDER, ONLY ONE SEAL HERE. INSTALL ARM CYLINDER HOOK UP
LINES. MOVED TO STICK ASSEMBLY. ASSEMBLE HARDWARE TO ARM CYLINDER. SET UP ARM
ASSEMBLE, INSTALL SEALS AND PINNED UNIT. HUNTED AROUND FOR PIN RETAINED PLATE, MADE
ONE UP. RICARTE HELPING OUT, STARTED 2000 HR SERVICE ON UNIT. WEATHER TURNED BAD
FAST ON US TODAY.

PIN. MOVED VOLVO OUT OF SHOP TO ACCESS CUBE OF UNIVIS. MOVED CUBE OVER TO
EXCAVATOR AND FILLED HYD OIL. USED CRANE AND INSTALLED PIN IN STICK BORE. USED
STINGER AND RIGGING AND LIFTED CYLINDER INTO PLACE. FOUGHT WITH IT A BIT AS IT WAS A
TIGHT FIT BETWEEN THE EARS. LINED UP BORES AND CYLINDER AND PUSHED PIN THROUGH FIRST
EAR AND CYLINDER BORE. FOUGHT WITH PIN FOR A LONG TIME TRYING TO GET IT INTO LAST BORE
(EAR). FINALLY WAS ABLE TO PUSH IT 3/4 OF THE WAY THROUGH. NEEDED TO SPIN PIN FOR LOCK
TO BE IN PLACE, PIN IS EXTREMELY TIGHT AND COULD NOT GET IT SPUN. DECIDED TO MOVE
EXCAVATOR TO SHOP AS THIS IS WHERE IT WAS NEEDED BY MORNING. LAYED OUT MATS AND
TIRES AND BACKED MACHINE INTO SHOP. STICK PIN STILL NEEDS TO BE SPUN AND PIN PUSHED
THE REST OF THE WAY THROUGH. ALSO THERE IS A HYD LEAK SOMEWHERE NEAR BASE END OF
STICK CYLINDER.
MAR 23, 10 - ASSEMBLE MACHINE/GENERAL REPAIRS /2000 HR SERVICE - PETER
MOVE MACHINE INSIDE, REPAIR ARM CYLINDER. BARREL END HOSES. FAOULTY O-RING. HOOK UP
PROPER FLUIDS FOR 2000 HR SERVICE. ATTEMPT STICK CYLINDER AND PIN. TRIED A LOT OF
FOOLING AND TECHNIQUES TO WORK PIN IN OR OUT. DETERMINED THE EXTENSIVE WELDING
DONE HAS OFFSET BORE ALIGHMENT. USE 1 D9 AND D10 CAT TO FIX PROBLEM MAKE UP
CROSSOVER LIST AND CLEAN TOOLING.

MOVED EQUIPMENT AROUND YARD TO ACCESS BUCKET. BROUGHT BUCKET TO SHOP. RETUNED
EQUIPMENT TO ORIGINAL PLACE. FABRICATED PIN RETAINER BRACKET FOR BOOM TO STICK PIN.
REMOVED ALL PINS FROM BUCKET AND CLEANED AND BUFFED ALL BORES AND PINS. POSITIONED
BUCKET AND GREASED ALL BORES. PINNED STICK TO BUCKET. FOUGHT WITH PIN FOR QUITE
AWHILE TO GET IT IN AS IT WAS VERY TIGHT. LINED UP BUCKET CYLINDERS AND INSTALLED PIN.
RIGGED UP DOG BONES FOR PPIN ASSEMBLY. PIN REPAINTER CAPS NOT YET INSTALLED ON PINS.
MAR 26, 10- RICARTE
BRING OUTSIDE THE WASH BAY TO DO PUMP DRIVE HOSES FOR REPLACEMENT. REMOVE ALL
HOSES AND GET ONE MADE UP. DRAIN OIL, HOOK UP NEW HOSE, FILL OIL. WASH AND
STRAIGHTEN OUT BOTTOM PAN. HOOK BACK UP TO MACHINE. NEED TO TOP UP HYD OIL BUT CUBE
IN SHOP IS EMPTY. MOVE MACHINE AROUND TO GET ACCESS TO NEW OIL CUBE AND BRING
INSIDE THE SHOP FOR THE NIGHT SHIFT GUY. ORDER PARTS FOR MACHINE.
MAR 29, 10 - INSTALL HORN, PIP CLAMP, WARNING DECALS - JOE
DRAIN AIR TANK, FULL OF OIL. CLEAN AND INSTALL AIR CHECK VALVE. REPAIR HORN SWITCH AND
AIR COMPRESSOR. REMOVE JAPANESE WARNING DECALS, REPLACED WITH ENGLISH VERSION.
RE-ALIGNED BOOM CYLINDER PIPELINE AND CLAMPED. PUT ON FUEL SCREEN.
MAR 30, 10 - INSTALL HOOD STAND AND FIX AIR LINE LEAK - JOE
TAKE OFF BOLTS, RING UP HOOD, INSTALL HOOD STAND AND BOLTED. TAKE OFF HOSE FITTING,
PUT TREAD, INSTALL AGAIN. INSTALL A/C COMPRESSOR BELT GUARD.
APR 07 10 - HYD TUNE UP/ REPAIRS - PETER
PERFORM HYDRAULIC AND PERFORMANCE TEST. ALL WITHIN SPEC. SOURCE SPECS AND MONITOR
PROCEDRUES. ASSIST WITH HITCH ADJUSTMENT. PERFORM VISUAL INSPECTION FOR OIL LEAKS
AND GENERAL DEFICIENCIES. PERFORM ELECTRICAL REPAIRS ON SENSOR CONNECTIONS.
