before you leave
voice mail
using a TELUS Mobility PCS phone
Make sure to set up your voice mail before you leave Canada.
Call Client Care at *611 or 1-866-558-2273 to activate international
dialling on your TELUS Mobility account. A credit check may apply.
To access your voice mail from an international destination:
To update your global roaming list and ensure your phone can
roam in all our global roaming coverage areas:
Global roaming coverage area: dial your own number using the
international dialing instructions
1. Dial *22803 from your mobile phone
2. Choose your preferred language (1=English, 2=French)
3. Choose 2 for software upgrade
Expanded global roaming coverage area: press and hold 1
or call +1-519-239-6245
Local airtime and long distance charges may apply for voice mail
deposits and retrievals. Voice mail notification services may not be
available in all service areas while roaming internationally.
You must be within one of the following coverage areas to update
your phone or device: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan,
Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia.

Calls can only be forwarded to Canadian phone numbers.

If you have already activated your World Phone, simply pack your
phone and enjoy your trip.

Your phone may not display the incoming number while travelling
outside of Canada and the U.S., even if you subscribe to caller ID.
If you have purchased a Global Roaming Card to use with a GSM
phone, call Client Care at *611 or 1-866-558-2273 to activate
global roaming on your TELUS Mobility account. A credit check
may apply.
Global Roaming Card PIN
Your Global Roaming Card PIN is an optional security feature
that allows you to limit access to your address book, information
and calling functionality when roaming in expanded global roaming
coverage areas.
Don’t forget to insert your card into your GSM phone prior
to use. To rent a GSM phone before leaving Canada,
please call 1-800-337-3155.

Your phone will automatically connect to a local partner PCS network
(if available) when you roam internationally.

When travelling between countries with different networks, you may
need to change your Phone Mode setting according to the network:
1. Select Menu
2. Select Settings
3. Select Phone Mode
4. Choose either CDMA (for global roaming coverage areas)
or GSM (for expanded global roaming coverage areas)
using a TELUS Mobility Global
Roaming Card
Your phone will automatically connect to a local partner GSM

If you are a TELUS Mobility PCS client travelling to the U.S., you
can enjoy your TELUS Mobility PCS phone using our roaming
partners. Your U.S. roaming rate depends on the TELUS Mobility
rate plan you select.
You can also roam with your PCS phone in many other countries,
including Hong Kong, China, South Korea, New Zealand and
Mexico. We are adding new countries to our PCS roaming list
all the time. See the chart below for roaming rates, or visit

If you are a TELUS Mobility PCS client travelling outside Canada and
the U.S. and want to roam in the expanded global roaming coverage
area, you have two options:
Purchase a TELUS Mobility World Phone
Purchase a Global Roaming Card to be used with a GSM
international phone
In both cases you can roam in more than 120 countries while
maintaining your regular phone number. Roaming rates vary
depending on the country you are in. Please see the global roaming
countries list to identify each country zone and related roaming rate.
