Step 2: After you get into the vehicle, hold the remote Smart Keys up to the Valet Sensor again, and press the Engine Start/Stop button with foot brake depressed to start the engine. You can also push the Engine Start/Stop button without pressing foot brake to cycle between ACC/ON/OFF modes. Note: You may have to remove the back cover and take the inside battery out as it may cause intermittent interference. Normally the above Step 1 will allow you to disarm the security system and unlock the doors to get into the vehicle, but it still have a chance to fail as some interference may occur or your vehicle windshield glass is extra thick or has been installed with metallic Solar Film. If the above Step 1 fails to disarm the sytem and unlock the doors, you can use the provided mechanical spare key to manually unlock the vehicle from the driver’s door key cylinder to enter into the vehicle, and then go to the above step 2 to push start the engine. 5.1.2 Press the Engine Start/Stop button by 10 times slowly ( wait for 1 second after each press and then give another press, totally press 10 times.). This is a safety feature to protect your vehicle in case you forget to arm the security sytem yourself. The Passive Arming Function is de-activated by default as the Smartkey System already has the “Smart keyless entry/exit” function, it will be automatically activated when the “Smart Keyless entry/exit” function has been disabled. Useful Tip: In “Passive Arming Mode”, if you forgot to take the smart key and left it inside vehicle, the system can sense it and will NOT lock it inside. But it’s NOT safe with the doors unlocked and vehicle disarmed, so please always make sure that you have the smart key with you before exiting the vehicle!
