The Impaq Glass Break is designed to detect the sound of breaking glass and activate an alarm control panel. It is not a complete alarm system, and should be used with other interior sensors. The detector is not designed for very thin glass and may not detect broken glass if plastic film is adhered to the window. Avoid installing in rooms smaller than 3 x 3m or larger than 15 x 15m, or where the ceiling is higher than 5m.

No, it's only a part of a complete alarm system. Texecom cannot be held responsible for any damages based on a claim that the Impaq Glass Break failed to function correctly.

The detector may not respond to breaking glass if it has been adhered to any type of plastic film prior to smashing. It's also not guaranteed to detect very slow pressure cracking and may not detect every glass break event. It's not suitable for stained or leaded glass.

Mount the detector in the same room as the window to be detected. Avoid installing in rooms smaller than 3 x 3m or larger than 15 x 15m, or where the ceiling is higher than 5m. It's preferred for better detection to have a direct line of sight, so keep it away from obstacles like blinds and curtains.

Temporarily mount the detector in a suitable position, and connect to a portable supply e.g. 12V battery. Remove the cover, then ensure that the gain control is set fully anticlockwise. Push and hold the test button for at least 1 second to put it in test mode. Replace the cover and thump the center of the glass to test sensitivity.
