Overview This document provides details of the modifications and/or enhancements made to QLogic’s SANsurfer iSCSI HBA CLI application. The initial and prior release of SANsurfer iSCSI HBA CLI version 1.00.36.02 supported features for local hosts include: ● ● Asset Management, which enables users to: ❍ View details about attached iSCSI HBAs. ❍ View details about iSCSI devices and LUNs connected to the iSCSI HBAs. Configuration Management, which enables users to: ❍ Configure QLogic iSCSI HBAs. ❍ Configure connections to iSCSI targets. ❍ Display LUN properties. ❍ Update firmware. ❍ Update BIOS and ROM. ❍ Update BIOS Boot targets. ❍ Use comprehensive Restore Factory Defaults feature (405x). ❍ Use VLAN Configuration (405x). ❍ Use ZIO Configuration (405x). ❍ Perform iSCSI Boot configuration (disable, manual, DHCP for 405x). ● Statistics, which are available for each iSCSI HBA. ● Diagnostics, which enable users to ping a target to verify connectivity between HBA port and a target. ● Advanced Diagnostics, which enables users to perform: ❍ read/write buffer tests. ❍ internal loop back tests. ❍ external loop back tests. ● VPD (Vendor Private Data), which enables users to display Vendor Private Data. ● HBA State and Target Session Connection State Display: ● ❍ Displays QLogic iSCSI HBAs and displays their state. ❍ Displays target connections and displays their state. Supported Cards: QLA4010, QLA4010C, QLA4050C, and QLA4052C. 2. Enhancements This release of SANsurfer iSCSI HBA CLI version 1.0.39.07 includes the following additional features: ● Asset Management, which enables users to: ❍ ❍ ● Clone all or parts of pre-saved HBA configuration for HBA replacement, quick configuration duplication, or to ensure consistent configurations. Save Host configuration to text file. Configuration Management, which enables users to: ❍ Install and Update driver (Windows only). ❍ Configure boot target iSCSI connection parameters when booted to the iSCSI target. ❍ Configure for optimal performance using new HBA firmware parameters and target connection parameters. ❍ Display target configuration. ❍ Configure iSCSI name. ❍ Configure BIDI CHAP for targets. 3. Bug Fixes N/A 4. Known Issues After installing the drivers, you must restart the iscli to view HBAs, even if a message does not prompt you to reboot the system.
