Ampac Pacific operates from a Customer Service Office based in Glenfield,
Auckland. Comprising of a team of dedicated and experienced employees,
Ampac Pacific provides sales and technical support for fire installation
and EWIS contractors as well as fire discipline and electrical consulting
engineers. We also work with building owners and maintenance
companies to make ‘manufacturers recommendations’ towards future
planning and budgeting options.

Conventional Control Panels
Ampac supplies a wide range of conventional fire indicator panel options which meet
the latest NZ standards. Each panel model is designed to be user-friendly as well as
cost-effective.
Our product line up includes:

Z1 Single Zone Detection
• NZ400 Four Zone Detection
• NZ3200 Applications between 8 and up to 32 Zones
The panel selected should be chosen based on the number of zones required and the
overall feature set required. Your choice should also accommodate any future plans
for the site. A series of add on kits are available with NZ400 and NZ3200 models to
maximise the cost effectiveness and flexibility of each product.
Other conventional system solutions
If the NZ series outlined above does not meet your particular needs, for instance you
need a larger conventional system or perhaps the system needs to be networked,
the Ampac FireFinder will meet such applications. FireFinder offers a modular 16 zone
architecture and or addressable loop option, ie 16, 32, 48, 64 zones, etc, and can be
networked to other Ampac FireFinder panels where necessary.

ZoneSense NZ1/NZ1R
Conventional Fire Alarm Control Panel
The ZoneSense NZ1 is a single zone Fire Alarm Control Panel. The prolonged standby
time makes the system particularly suitable for non monitored applications. The
facility to provide alarm verification and smoke detector only response reduces
unwanted alarms.The ZoneSense NZ1 is designed for commercial applications and
has been approved to NZS4512:2003. The ZoneSense NZ1R is designed for residential
applications and has a ‘Reset’ facility on the front panel. This allows the end user to reset
the panel from an alarm state without having to open the door.

NZ400
Conventional Fire Indicator Panel
The NZ400 is an automatic Fire Alarm Control Panel. The NZ400 has four 2-wire fire
detection circuits able to accommodate heat detectors, smoke detectors, manual call
points or a combination of these devices. Programming and interrogating the panel
configuration is made easy with the inclusion of a seven-segment display. Acrylic index
can be easily fitted or removed. The index is back lit. The NZ400 has two bell outputs to
alert personnel in the event of a fire. These outputs are monitored for short and open
circuit conditions. With the addition of an SGD Type II board the system can signal the
brigade. Up to four (4) programmable relays can be added to the panel using the serial
relay board.

Conventional Fire Indicator Panel
The NZ3200 is a Fire Alarm Control Panel that is available in 8, 16, 24 or 32 zone
versions. Each of the zones interfaces with conventional two wire detectors. The
NZ3200 is offered with two different size cabinets with capacities of 16 and 32 zones
respectively. Programming the system options is via an easy to use DIP switch. All
common system and zone alarm LED’s can be remotely displayed with the addition of
a simple plug in RS485 remote mimic option. The easy to remove / fit acrylic index is
provided with built in back lighting to make compliance with New Zealand installation
requirements as easy as possible.

FireFinder is a state of the art multi microprocessor controlled Intelligent Fire Alarm
Control Panel. Modular in design, the FireFinder provides flexibility and versatility
that can be configured to operate with both intelligent analogue addressable and
conventional devices in the one system.
Available in single loop or multiple loop configurations, the FireFinder supports the
leading Apollo XP95 and Discovery detector protocols. The Ampac ConfigManager
software tools provide a powerful combination with the FireFinder to configure

Fire Fan Module AS
Each Fire Fan Module houses the control and indication of up to four (4)
fire fans and a single control/indication for plant trip reset.
A hard-wired version of a fire fan module consists of a Fire Fan Control
Card and Termination Board. Field wiring is terminated to the termination
board at the FACP.
A loop-driven version is also available and in this configuration only the
Fire Fan Control Card would be required. Field wiring will terminate to
address input/output devices that operate on the addressable loop.

Agent Release Panel
The ZoneSense PLUS AR (Agent Release) Panel is a dedicated panel for agent release
systems. Housed in a metal cabinet, the ZoneSense PLUS AR is available in either four
(4) or eight (8) zones. Based on a ZoneSense PLUS Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP), the
AR version is fitted with an Agent Release Panel Add-on (control card and termination
board) and a dual action yellow manual call point as standard. The Agent Release panel
add-on option is factory set.
•Dedicated Agent Release system - purpose built with a host of ancillary products to
suit
•Comprehensive system status – the AR panel includes a number of system status
indicators that facilitates ease of operation and maintenance
•Local Control Station with control and indication – mimics full status of the Agent
Release panel. An outdoor version of this product is available
•User interface and operation based around Industry Fire Emergency procedures –
ensures that the system installed is intuitive and easy to use
•Dual action Manual Call Point – the yellow MCP is a break glass type and requires
a dual action to be activated i.e. lift the protective transparent cover and break the
glass

Agent Release Warning Signs
IP50 Model
The AR panel supports a 2-wire connection to warning signs. The 2-wire
connection supports both single or dual stage signs. The latter is possible
because of the voltage reverse technology adopted by the AR panel.
Multiple warning signs may be connected to the AR panel. The connection
will be in a ‘daisy chain’ configuration with the last warning sign fitted with
an End-Of-Line (EOL) resistor. The EOL resistor facilitates the monitoring of
the warning sign circuit. A maximum of 6 warning signs may be fitted
to an AR panel.
An on-board buzzer fitted to every sign provides audible warning.
However in the event AS1670.4 audible warning tones are required,
external electronic sounders may be connected directly to each warning
sign. An external switch may be connected to the sign to mute audible
warning.

Local Control Station
Up to four (4) Local Control Stations (LCS) can be connected remote to the
AR panel. An operator may manually release, or inhibit release of, the agent
from any of these LCS’s.
Connection from the AR panel to the LCS is via RS485 communications
protocol. Subsequent LCS’s are connected in a ‘daisy chain’ wiring
configuration.

Emergency Warning Systems
The Ampac EV3000 Emergency Warning and Intercom System is designed for the
purpose of enabling the orderly evacuation of occupants, from a building or structure,
in the event of an emergency.
The system comprises of two (2) sub-systems. The first being the Emergency Warning
System (EWS) and the other the Emergency Intercom System (EIS). While the Warning
and Intercom System have separate controls, they coexist in a panel that is logically
presented and aesthetically pleasing.
The Emergency Warning System makes use of speakers strategically placed around the
site, to broadcast ALERT, and/or EVACUATION signals or public address announcements.
The EWS may be automatically initiated or manually operated. When not used in an
emergency situation, the EV3000 can broadcast background music and/or general
paging announcements.
The Emergency Intercom System (EIS) consists of front panel control at the Emergency
Control Panel (ECP) and Warden Intercom Phones (WIP) that are strategically placed
throughout the building. Communication is only possible between the WIP and ECP.
For larger sites, multiple control panels may be networked.

active amplifier is faulty
•Digital paging console – attractive remote paging console with seven (7) segment
digital display and keypad gives operator quick and easy access to paging zones

configuration, and remote paging console

Fibre Optic Network Interface for EV3000
The fibre modem network interface kit offers the user a method of
interconnecting two (2) or more EV3000 Emergency Warning and
Intercom System (EWIS) using fibre optic cable as an alternative to copper.
The modems convert hardwired data and audio, to a common fibre optic
compatible output.
The fibre optic modems are full duplex and have 4-channels to carry both
data and two (2) audio signals. Two (2) channels are required – emergency
public address and warden intercom audio signals.

Ampac Duct Sampling Unit
The Ampac Duct Sampling Unit is designed to monitor levels of smoke in
air ducts operating in air speeds of 0.5 to 20 meters per second.
The duct smoke detector can be fitted to any wall of a ventilation duct
and has two tubes that extend into the duct through punched holes.
The perforated sampling tube is placed in the airflow upstream of the
exhaust tube which causes a pressure differential in the duct detector. Air
is sucked up the sampling tube, across the detector and exhausted back
into the air duct.
• T he cover of the duct smoke detector is monitored to ensure working
integrity and if removed, causes a fault to appear at the fire alarm
control panel
• Easily accessible wire clamping terminals ensure secure and fast
termination
• Clear cover hence the alarm LED on the detector is visible at all times
• Unique self-sealing test port allows the dispensing of test smoke via a
needle into the duct smoke detector to be tested without the need to
remove the cover
• Sampling pipes available in 4 lengths

Intelligent Interfaces
Apollo and Ampac manufacture a comprehensive range of interfaces for intelligent
systems which enable fire protection systems to be engineered simply and effectively
without the need for custom-designed equipment. There are a variety of interfaces
available to suit a number of individual applications.
Standard Interfaces with Isolators are fitted with bi-directional short-circuit isolators
so that they are unaffected by a single short circuit on either loop input or output.
However, the Input/Output Unit and Output Unit with isolator are exceptions to this.
The removal of loop power to these interfaces will cause a ‘set’ relay to ‘reset’.
DIN-Rail Interfaces feature enclosures that clip to standard 35mm DIN-Rails or are
screwed to the base of a larger enclosure. They enable fire system designers to
determine the functions required and create multi-purpose interfaces for individual
sites.

Sonos Low Current Visual Warning Device
The SONOS Low Current Visual Warning strobes are general purpose LED
strobes for fire, security and industrial applications. The strobes come with
the flexibility of individual Red, Amber and Clear strobes or combined
Red/Amber strobe units complete with either a flush or surface mounting
plate. The strobes utilises a full faced, translucent case which provides a
much larger lens area and a greater spread of light. The strobes are suitable
for use with AMPAC’s EV3000 system (both single and combined) and
AMPAC’s fire panels (Single only). Simple ‘twist and click’ insertion avoids
wiring and connection problems.

MultiAmp-DH
The MultiAmp-DH 250mA Door Holder Supply (DHS) provides up to
250mA of current at 24 VDC to operate door holders. The unit can operate
as an “Automatic Door Release System” (ADRS) or respond to a secondary
control.
When configured as an ADRS, conventional detectors are installed and
connected directly to the DHS. The detection circuit is monitored for
alarm, open, or short circuit conditions. The presence of any one of these
conditions will deactivate supply to the door holders and cause doors to
be released.
Alternatively doors may be released by a switched VDC input to the DHS,
derived normally from a Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) or security system.
The switched VDC input must be between 8 to 30VDC to release the
doors.
