HE annual International Irrigation
Show is always a good place to see
the latest in new water-management products and check in with new
trends in the irrigation industry.
This year’s show in San Diego, Dec.
9-12, was no different, with hundreds of
exhibitors displaying agricultural and
turf and landscape irrigation gear, along
with products and services available to
ag producers and commercial irrigation
installers.

Two-in-one probe: Decagon Devices
has a new soil probe that monitors
moisture and temperature. Called
the EC-TM, it uses high-frequency
electronics to measure volumetric
water content despite soil texture or
salinity levels. In addition, the probe
contains a thermistor to help track
root zone temperature for monitoring
germination and organic material

Furrow flow controller: Sutron’s
new solar-powered DitchMaster
controller is designed to fill and
maintain water levels in irrigation
ditches. The controller monitors ditch
water level and adjusts the supply
gate to maintain a consistent delivery

of irrigation control devices and
