Direct contact with perishable goods/food is not permitted. 4 Personnel qualification Installation, commissioning and maintenance may only be performed by specialists. These personnel must have read and understood the installation and operating instructions in full. 5 Product description The SCM module is used to easily control up to 2 Zimmer Group IO-Link grippers. The control from the per-spective of the higher-level control takes place via 12 digital inputs and outputs each. The SCM module thus acts as an IO-Link to a digital IO gateway for easy use of the IO-Link grippers. The module is therefore configured with PC-based software and can then be operated without the PC. For configuration or diagnostics via Ethernet connection, the PC is connected to the lower RJ45 socket with a commercially available network cable. The following list shows the basic commands (all signals are static signals): • Open the gripper with the signal Cmd_Release • Close the gripper with the signal Cmd_Grasp • The signals isReleased, isGrasped, isClosed stand for the feedback signals of the gripper to the control system • Switch the motor on/off with the command Cmd_Motor_On • The command Cmd_Homing starts an external reference run • If a workpiece recipe stored in the SCM module is to be activated, select it binary coded with the signals Cmd_ Workpiece_Bit_0..3. As soon as these are active, the corresponding feedback signals Act_Workpiece_Bit_0..3 are sent and the recipe is active. ÖÖ To do this, please bring the gripper to a standstill first! INFORMATION After a cold start, the SCM module starts without a connected HMI, first with the primacy of the IO signals with the last saved configuration. This means that after configuration is complete, the HMI can be closed and the PC with the network cable can be removed. The SCM module and the connected grippers can now function by using only the controller.
