Purpose
This document explains the process for replacing the swing arm on a Sci-Print MP2 or MP2+.

Required Material and Equipment
Sci-Print MP2 or MP2+
2mm allen wrench
3mm allen wrench

Prerequisites

Procedure
1. Power off instrument
2. Turn air supply to instrument off
3. Using a 2mm allen wrench remove the four screws for the swing arm tower housing, and
set housing aside.
Note: The fourth screw (not seen in Figure 1 below) is behind the swing arm; swing it to
the other side for access.

4. Mark or take pictures of the air lines and flow controls, to record the order and placement
for the install.
5. Remove the airlines from the flow controls pictured and circled in Figure 2 below.

6. Unplug the flex cable from the board.

7. Using a 2.5mm allen, remove the two screws for the flex cable/airline bracket.

8. Using a 3mm allen, remove the top shoulder screw and guard.

9. Using a 2.5mm allen, remove the middle shoulder screw holding the arm to the tower.

10. Remove the broken arm.
11. Install new arm at 90 angle so small dowel pin fits into swing slot.

12. Replace the middle shoulder screw to secure the arm to the tower.
13. Replace top shoulder screw and guard.
14. Secure the flex cable/airline bracket.
15. Connect the flex cable.
16. Connect all airlines to the appropriate flow controller.
17. Test.
