This guide will provide the steps necessary for replacing the screen in an Samsung SPHA640 cellular telephone.

Step 1 — Back Cover

Press and hold the “End” button
until the phone powers off.
Step 2

Turn the phone over on its backside.

Remove the bottom cover by sliding it downward, and then remove the battery.

Step 3 — Screen

Using a #00 Phillips screwdriver,
remove four screws from the
bottom half of the phone in the
battery compartment. The screws
are in each corner. Place screws
off to the side.
Step 4

Using spudger, pry off back cover
starting at the bottom corners and
moving around the perimeter
towards the hinge. Disengaging the
clips near the hinge may require
some force.

Step 5

Using tweezers, carefully remove
buttons from both sides while
removing back cover. Note the
positions of the buttons. They must
be returned to the proper positions.
Step 6

Once the back is removed, use a
spudger to disconnect the electrical
connector near the hinge.

Step 7

Peel off the screw covers and
remove two exposed Phillips head
screws with small Phillips head
screwdriver.
Step 8

Remove front cover of phone using
spudger. Slide spudger along seam
from hinge and working around the
perimeter.

Step 9

Using spudger, disconnect
electrical connector. Electrical
connecter is located near hinge and
is revealed when front cover is
removed.
Step 10

Using spudger, pry the speakers from the case. These are located at the top of the back of
the phone.

Step 11

Using spudger, lift screen assembly from case.
Step 12

To the best of our knowledge, remove the hinge to free the ribbon cable from the case and
remove the screen assembly.
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
