Update Information
AXIS 7000 NETWORK DOCUMENT SERVER
Software release 2.40
Software release 2.40 is intended for the AXIS 7000 Network Document Servers with part
no: 0094-xxx-02 or 0094-xxx-03. The software is available free of charge on the Axis web
site. All features of the previous software 2.30 are retained.
The main highlights are:
Support for additional scanning devices
• Hewlett Packard
• HP7400C (A4, flatbed, b/w, grayscale and color)
• HP7450C (A4, flatbed, ADF, b/w, grayscale and color)
• HP7490C (A4, flatbed, ADF, b/w, grayscale and color)
E-mail enhancement
•
SMTP authentication has been added. It is now possible for the AXIS 7000 to log on
to an SMTP server when sending mail for additional security. The administrator can
select whether to use a fixed account or use the user name and password when logged
on against an LDAP or NT server.
•
Carbon copy (cc) functionality has been added. A cc mail can be sent to a fixed
e-mail address or if logged on, to the logged on user.
•
E-mail confirmation has been added. When a document is sent by the AXIS 7000 via email the sender can get a confirmation of delivery. The AXIS 7000 supports two
methods. The first and safest method will return an e-mail to the sender when the
receiving server has put the sent document in the recipients Inbox. The second method
will request the recipient’s e-mail client to confirm delivery. The e-mail confirmation
feature is available when user authentication is used to further guarantee that the
confirmation is sent to the correct sender. The first method is Delivery Status
Notifications (DSN) and the second method is Message Disposition Notifications
(MDN).
