1. OVERVIEW
2. START
Warning: For more information and details on
this product, refer to manuals available on the
site www.ultrareef.it before start up product.
When connecting pipes insert the pipe into the
fitting and push it to the end. To remove it, push
down the security ring and at same time pull the
tube.
After system installation, it has becomes full
responsibility of the user to evaluate the
tightness, the effectiveness and suitability of
product. Any loss of water and consequent
damage remains responsibility of the user.
Connect the pipes as shown:
1. Water load pipe
2. CO2 load pipe
3. Water drain pipe
Warning: Install a non-return valve (not supplied)
on the CO2 load pipe to prevent backflow of
water into the cylinder or its valve.
Clean thoroughly with water and vinegar (diluted
to 10%) each component that will go into contact
with water. Products that contains alcohol or
solvents can damage the acrylic.
Warning: NEVER operate the reactor with fully
closed drain valve.
Warning: The company denies any liability for
consequential damages due to the loss of the
reactors! Before installing the reactor, ensure
that any losses of water cannot cause any harm
to people and / or objects.
PH Probe: For the use of a PH probe, refer to the
complete manual.
To start the reactor:
1. Loose the breather/probeport on the cover.
2. Connect the water inlet (or start the pump
load) of the reactor. Once filled the chamber,
the water will begin to overflow from the
breather/probeport and the drain pipe.
3. Loose the upper connector on the bubble
counter and fill it with water.
4. Shake gently the reactor in order to release
the air bubbles trapped in the sand.
5. Tighten the breather/probeport and check
that the reactor discharges only water from
drain pipe.
6. Start the reactors pump.
7. Close off the output valve until you get a flow
of between 1 and 2 l/h.
8. Open the carbon dioxide cylinder valve and
adjust the output pressure of 0.1 bar.
9. Verify the release of CO2 into the reactor
through the bubble counter.Fill the bubble
counter of water by loosening the upper
connection and letting the air out.
Warning: Install the reactor inside the sump tank.
Warning: Connect the reactor only to CO2
cylinders suitable for aquarium use and certified
to comply with local laws.
Before perform installation, prepare the medium.
Follow the preparation instructions provided by
the supplier of the media.
Warning: This manual uses term "media" to
indicate the filling material of the reactor.
Remove the top cover and place the reactor
inside the tank sump. Spill into reactor earlier
prepared media and close the cover, without
forgetting the gasket.

3. SETTING
4. MAINTENANCE
Manual regulation: Act on the control valve of
the CO2 until you get a flow of about one bubble
per second.
Before performing any maintenance, disconnect
the product from power supply. Do not use
abrasive products, toxic and unsuitable for
cleaning operation.
PH controller regulation: Act on control valve of
the CO2 until you get a flow of about 2 bubbles
per second. Calibrate the controller so that it
closes the solenoid valve when it detects a pH of
about 6.80.
Every day: Check every day for leaks and cracks.
Check correct CO2 input through the bubble
counter and check the water out flow. Check
absence of air bubbles within the reactor.
Every week: Measure the output flow and check
KH° value, in the case correct the CO2 input flow.
Check values in the tank, in case correct them
buffer with liquid or powder.
Warning: The reactor is now in operation and the
process of lowering the pH begins.
After about 24 hours take a water sample from
the drain pipe and check that carbonate hardness
is approximately higher than that in the tank.
Usually reactors are set to provide a 25-30 ° KH.
Every month: Remove the drain valve and check
that it is not clogged or covered with debris. In
case replace it with a new one.
Manual correction: Operate the control valve
and increase the bubbles per second if the value
of °KH detected is too low. Conversely, decreased
the number of bubbles per second.
Every 6 months: Perform complete control by
removing the reactor from the sump and taking it
apart. Completely replace the medium inside the
reactor.
PH controller correction: Operate the controller
and lower the PH limit value if the value of °KH
detected is too low. Conversely, increased the PH
limit value.
Warning: For solution of any problems during
use, refer to the complete manual.
