Back-Pack Commercial and Household Dry Pick-Up Vacuum Cleaner
Read the owner’s manual carefully before using
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including
the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING (THIS APPLIANCE).
WARNING - to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:
1. Do not leave appliance unattended when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and
before servicing.
2. Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
3. Do not try to recover any liquid with this vacuum. This vacuum is for DRY RECOVERY only.
4. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
5. Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
6. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been
dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dripped into water, return it to a service center.
7. Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around
sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
8. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
9. Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
10. Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; Keep free of dust,
lint, hair, or anything that may reduce air flow.
11. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving
parts.
12. Turn off all controls before unplugging.
13. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
14. Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas
where they may be present.
15. Connect to a properly grounded outlet only. See grounding instructions.
16. Do not pick up any objects that are burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot
ashes.
17. Do not use without a dust bag and / or filters in place.
18. Do not operate with wet hands.

INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
INSPECTION
Carefully unpack and inspect your new vacuum for shipping damage. Each unit is tested and
thoroughly inspected before shipping.
WARNING
DO NOT vacuum with a frayed, worn, or damaged cord.
DO NOT vacuum liquids or expose the back pack vacuum to rain or water
DO NOT vacuum hazardous or toxic materials.
DO NOT use to pick up flammable or hazardous material.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be grounded. If it should malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides
a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This appliance is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug.
The plug must be inserted into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded
in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
WARNING
Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric
shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service person if you are in doubt as to whether
the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the appliance. If it will
not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. This appliance is
for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit and has a grounding attachment plug that looks like the
plug illustrated in sketch A. Make sure that the appliance is connected to an outlet having the
same configuration as the plug. No adaptor should be used with this appliance.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Your new backpack comes completely assembled and ready to use.
Install the hose (#11) into the top lid (#9) by aligning arrows and twist clockwise. Attach an extension
cord and proceed to clean using appropriate attachment.
MAINTENANCE & USE
Remove top lid (#9) by depressing latches on each side of the lid. This gives you access to the inside
of the backpack.
Changing (optional) HEPA bag (#20)
HEPA bag attaches to top lid by sliding into the grooves of a black plastic swinging frame. Pull frame
down removing opening in bag from inlet tube. Slide full bag out of frame and dispose of bag. New
bag will slide into grooves in frame, close frame against inlet and bag will lock into place.
SMS Shake Out Bag (#21)
Shake out bag can be removed from backpack to empty the dirt. Insert Bag into the housing (#1) and
be sure the vinyl gasket on the bag seals around the plastic housing.
True HEPA Motor Filter (#22)
The HEPA motor filter slides over 2 latches similar to the top lid and locks into place. You must depress these latches when replacing the filter.
Exhaust Micro Filter (#23)
Remove exhaust filter grill (#2) by depressing upper latch. Remove micro filter and wash. Replace
filter and grill after filter is dry.
Blower Port (#17)
The backpack can be converted into a blower for leaves, dust etc., by removing the exhaust grill (#2)
and replacing it with the blower port (#17). Remove hose from the top (#9) and insert into blower port
and twist to lock in place
