Remove the glove box.
•
Open the glove box. Remove the two stoppers,
and release the one hook.
•
Remove the two nuts, and gently pull out the
glove box to release the ten retaining clips.
Unplug the two vehicle connectors, and
remove the glove box.

Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the
radio, then write down the frequencies for the
preset buttons.
Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

Gently pull up the right center console upper trim
to release the nine retaining clips and three tabs.
Remove the right center console upper trim.

8.
Pull the center console toward the rear to release
the two hooks.
9.
Lift the center console. Remove the vehicle clip,
unplug the vehicle connectors from the center
console, and remove the center console.

Using this same procedure, remove the left center
console upper trim.
7.
Open the console box, and remove the console
mat. Remove the two screws and the two selftapping screws from the center console.

10. Remove the trim ring:

M/T Model: Gently pry up on the trim ring to
release the six hooks.
12. Pull the passenger's seat side center console
cover out toward you to release the four clips,
then remove the passenger's seat side center
console cover.

13. Using the same procedure, remove the driver's
seat side center console cover.

14. Pull the center console panel to release the pin,
and unplug the vehicle connectors, then remove
the center console panel. For M/T models, remove
the shift knob before removing the center console
panel.

11. Remove the two self-tapping screws and the two
screws from the passenger's seat side center

15. Using a hook tool, reach inside the vent and
locate the small opening on each side. Gently pull
the upper panel out to release the seven clips and
four retaining tabs.
17. Remove the four bolts from the center panel.

16. Unplug the vehicle connector, and remove the
upper panel.
18. Pull the center panel out toward you, unplug the
vehicle connectors, and remove the center panel.
19. At the center panel opening, route the bus cable
as shown.

20. Connect the bus cable 14-pin connector and
vehicle 14-pin connector to the bus cable 2 port
14-pin connectors.

24. Using a felt-tip pen, mark the Music Link harness
as shown.

21. Attach the two cushon tapes to the bus cable 2
port 14-pin connectors connected in step 22 as
illustrated.
22. Align the bus cable 2 port 14-pin connector with
vehicle 20-pin connector and secure the bus cable
2 port to the vehicle harness with two wire ties as
shown.

25. Cut one cushion tape in half, and wrap one half of
the cushion tape to the Music Link harness as
shown.
26. To prevent damage, wrap electrical tape around
the drill bit at a point about 30 mm away from the
tip. While wearing eye protection, drill a 20 mm
hole through the marked location. Remove all
burrs from the drilled hole.

27. Route the Music Link harness DIN connector into
the 20 mm hole in the direction shown.
29. Insert the Music Link adapter unit into the unit
cushion.

28. Cut the grommet as shown. Attach the grommet
to the Music Link harness, and seat the grommet
into the 20 mm hole.

30. Route the Music Link harness through the upper
panel opening to the center panel opening, and
connect the Music Link harness DIN connector
(WHITE) to the Music Link adapter assembly.
Note the location of the connector and the
terminals.

31. Secure the Music Link harness to the vehicle
harness with a wire tie beside the vehicle clip.
(Align the mark you made in step 24 with the wire
tie as shown).

33. Temporarily secure the Music Link harness to the
vehicle harness with three wire ties.
34. Route the bus cable along the Music Link harness,
and connect the bus cable DIN connector (Black) to
the Music Link adapter assembly. Note the location
of the connector and the terminals.

35. Secure the bus cable to the vehicle harness with
the three wire ties temporarily secured in step 33.

36. Reinstall the glove box.
38. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly
and all connectors are plugged in.
39. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.

40. Enter the customer’s radio anti-theft code, and
reset the radio station presets, the clock.

41. Reinstall all removed parts.
42. Turn the power of the audio unit ON. Check that
"No Disc" is shown on the display while in the CD
changer mode (the Music Link should be
recognized as CD changer 4).

NOTE: Whenever the battery is disconnected, the
driver’s AUTO function is disable.
43. Start the engine. Push down on the driver’s
window switch until the window is fully open.

44. Pull up on the driver’s window switch fully to close
the window completely, then hold the switch for
2 seconds or more.

45. Test the window AUTO function.

37. Connect the vehicle connectors and bus cable 14pin connector (or bus cable 2 port 14-pin
connector) to the center panel, and reinstall the
audio unit.
