This rechargeable cordless wine opener and preserver set includes a foil cutter, two wine bottle stoppers, and a charging base that ensures both tools are charged and ready to use when you need them.

9. For indoor use only. Do not expose the corkscrew, preserver, or charging base to rain or other extreme conditions.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Charging the Wine Opener and Wine Preserver Set

It is recommended that the Wine Opener and Wine Preserver Set be charged for at least 12 hours before using it for the first time. Please follow the instructions for charging the unit below:

Connect the DC Power Plug into the DC Power Socket at the back of the charging base.

Place the wine opener and wine preserver units onto the charging base. Ensure that the arrows on each of the preserver and corkscrew, and base are properly aligned with each other so that the electrical connections are made correctly.

Connect AC/DC adapter into a wall outlet and turn on the power.

The blue Charging Indicator Light will turn on, indicating that the battery is charging. It will take 10-12 hours to fully charge the battery between uses.

When the units are fully charged, turn off the power and disconnect the AC/DC adapter from the wall outlet. Disconnect the adapter from the charging base also.

Note: The corkscrew can be used to open up approximately 30 bottles when fully charged.

Opening a Wine Bottle with the Wine Opener

Before extracting the cork, use the included foil cutter to remove the foil seal from the bottle.

Place the corkscrew on top of the wine bottle, making sure that it remains upright at all times. Holding the corkscrew at an angle will prevent the corkscrew from removing the cork properly.

Hold the corkscrew and bottle firmly.

Press and hold the “Spiral Down” button ( ▼). The corkscrew spiral will rotate in a clockwise direction and puncture the cork. When the corkscrew mechanism stops, the cork will be visible through the transparent window and the blue indicator will shut off.

To remove the cork, simply press and hold the “Corkscrew Release” button ( ▲) and the spiral will turn in a counterclockwise direction and release the cork from the bottle.

Return the corkscrew to the charging base when finished. This will protect the unit from damage.

This corkscrew is designed for use with traditional corks, but it also works with synthetic corks. Synthetic corks are smaller and do not expand like traditional cork, so sometimes they may stick on the corkscrew spiral. If this happens, hold the cork firmly with a set of pliers. Press the

“Corkscrew Release” button ( ▲) as normal and allow the cork to be slowly released.

Vacuum Sealing a Wine Bottle with the Wine Preserver

Note: The preserver will keep leftover wine fresh for approximately 3-5 days.

Operating Process

Place the wine bottle on a flat surface

Insert one of the included wine stoppers into the wine bottle.

Hold the wine bottle neck securely in one hand and place the non-slip mouth of the Wine Preserver on the wine stopper.

Keep the Wine Preserver in an upright position and in line with the wine bottle.

Push down on the wine stopper and press the “power” button at the same time.

The Wine Preserver will make a “clacking” noise as it removes the air from the bottle. The clacking noise will decrease and stop after 20 seconds.

Do not release the power button until the unit stops.

Remove the Wine Preserver from the wine bottle and place it on the charging base until next use.

5 Epicureanist LLC 16782 Von Karman Ave., Suite 15, Irvine, CA 92606

Note: The non-slip mouth may attach itself to the wine stopper. If this occurs, hold the wine stopper and the neck of the bottle securely in one hand and tilt the Wine Preserver away from the wine stopper to release the suction. This should prevent air from re-entering the bottle. If in doubt, repeat the above process.

Suggestion: One vacuum session should be sufficient if the bottle is more than half full. If the bottle is less than half full, you may need to repeat the vacuum seal process a second time.

Date Indicators

Use the “ ▼” symbol on the wine stoppers to indicate the date when the bottle was sealed with your Wine Preserver.

Gently swivel the silver ring left or right until the correct date is in line with the “ ▼” symbol.

Releasing the wine stopper

Firmly hold the bottle in one hand and gently pull the wine stopper out of the bottle with the other hand.

Store the wine stoppers on the charging base until next use.

Care and Maintenance

We recommend that you return your Wine Opener and Wine

Preserver to the charging base so that it is fully charged and available for use at any time.

Wipe the Wine Opener, Wine Preserver, and charging base with a soft, dry cloth.

Battery & Product Disposal Information

The Wine Opener and Preserver both contain rechargeable batteries.

Before you dispose of your Wine Opener and Wine Preserver, you should remove the batteries and dispose of them responsibly. To remove the battery pack, remove the screws from the rear cover. Dispose of the rechargeable batteries and product responsibly.

Recycling and Disposal

The WEEE directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic

Equipment; 2002/96/EC) has been put in place to ensure that products are recycled using the best appropriate treatment, recovery and recycling methods to ensure human health and high level environment protection. Your product is designed and manufactured with high quality materials and components that can be recycled and reused.

Do not mix products bearing the crossed out bin symbol with your general household waste. Please take to appropriate recycling facilities.

Check with your local waste management company or retailer for such facilities.

Built-to-Order products (including Cabinets, Racking, and

Accessories) are non-returnable. Purchaser must notify Seller of non-conforming goods within four days of delivery, after which time all goods are deemed accepted. If an order has been placed and production has started, cancellation of your order will be a 15% charge.

Returned product must accompany all original packaging and parts and is subject to our 35% restocking fee (and freight both ways).

With Wine-Mate products, if the customer calls and the product is “defective”, you must obtain a letter from your qualified refrigeration technician at the customers cost, to verify that the unit was installed properly, with proper ventilation and the unit is truly malfunctioning due to manufacture defect.

Purchaser assumes all risk of using these units, including risk of spoilage, humidity variations, temperature variations, leaks, fire, water damage, mold, mildew, dryness and similar and any other perils that might occur.

Seller is not responsible for incidental or consequential damages, and there are no warranties, expressed or implied, which extend beyond the Limited Warranty described above. Warranty and liability are non-transferable.

The implied warranties of merchantability and of fitness for a particular purpose are hereby expressly disclaimed.

Some states do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, or a waiver of the implied warranties of fitness and/or merchantability, so the above limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Seller disclaims any indemnification for claims of infringement of any intellectual property of protectable nature.

In the event of any dispute between Seller and Purchaser arising out of or relating to these terms and conditions or to the goods sold generally, Purchaser must first file a written claim with Seller within ten days of the occurrence giving rise to the claim and wait an additional thirty days for a response before initiating any legal action. The sale and all terms are subject to California law. Any legal proceeding arising out of or relating to these terms and conditions or to the goods sold generally shall be brought solely and exclusively in the County of Los Angeles. In no event may Purchaser initiate any legal proceeding more than six months after the occurrence of the event giving rise to the dispute.

The above terms and conditions are the only ones governing this transaction and Seller makes no oral representations of any kind. These Terms and Conditions can only be modified in writing, signed by both Purchaser and Seller. 10/12
