FaxCore MFP Connector Installation Guide

FaxCore MFP Connector for Ricoh allows FaxCore users to submit faxes from Ricoh multi-function printers (MFP). This connector is designed for the latest "2011 autumn models" and compatible with browser unit Type F (WVGA Color). A supported MFP device must have a browser module version 2.01 or above. A FaxCore eV5 v6.0.0.16 and above is required, along with FaxCore MFP module licensing. To access the connector from your Ricoh MFP, you need to install the Device Browser module. This module is provided on an SD card, and installation is automatic when the card is inserted and the device is powered on. You can access the connector from the device browser through the URL "http://[faxcoreserver]/Ricoh/login.aspx".

Introductions

What is FaxCore MFP Connector?

FaxCore’s MFP Connector is an extension to multi-function printers (MFP), allow FaxCore users to submit faxes from MFP devices.

Supported MFP devices

This connector is built for “2011 autumn models”. Supported models are as below.

MP C4502

MP C5502

Installation Guide

Embedded Web Browser Application Installation

Requirements

FaxCore eV5 v6.0.0.16 and above.

FaxCore MFP module licensing. (Please contact FaxCore for further information)

IIS7.0 and above

Microsoft .NET 4.0 (full version)

Administrator access to FaxCore server.

Ricoh “2011 autumn models” MFP

MFP Connector installation files (v3.0.0.1 and above)

Server Configurations

Gain access to FaxCore server and download the Ricoh Connector installation file to the server. Extract the files to a temp folder. You should find a folder named “Ricoh” in the temp folder. Copy this Ricoh folder to

* install_dir:\FaxCore\Web\ folder.

install_dir = the directory where FaxCore is install. By default it should be D:\

Browse to install_dir:\FaxCore\Web\Ricoh\ folder and open web.config file with Notepad.exe

There are a few configurations which are required to set up. They are as below:

The value highlighted in yellow refers to the FaxCore’s data source. If your FaxCore server SQL database is located in a remote server, you need to change the value accordingly. If you are unsure about the value, please refer to \\FaxCore\web\web.config

This section of configurations contains settings for Exchange server, and FaxCore API URL.

ExchangeFBA Access to Exchange server using form-based authentication. If set to false, it will use non-formbased authentication. Only applicable for Exchange

Server 2007.

Directory domain name.

This is required when

ExchangeFBA is set to true.

EX2007 This is to indicate if the wfAPI

Exchange server is version

2007. If set to false, it set the connection protocol for

Exchange 2010 and above.

FaxCore API URL true

*Connector API URL is depending on IIS configuration.

Once the configuration is done, save the file.

IIS Configuration

Launch Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. Browse to FaxCore Server Name > Sites > FaxCore.

Right-click on the Ricoh folder and select “Convert To Application”. Click “OK”. To validate the IIS configuration, you can switch to content view, right-click on login.aspx file and select “Browse”. It will launch a browser, and you will see the login page. If you do not see the login page, this means there is error with your configuration. Review the above steps to make sure you didn’t miss any steps.

Proceed to login with FaxCore account. If your configuration is correct, you will be redirect to main menu UI, with sender information preloaded.

Permission setting for Ricoh web application. Select Ricoh from the left panel site browser, click on “Edit

Permissions…” on the right Action panel. A security window will pop up.

Click on the “Security” tab, then the “Edit…” button. On the new pop up window, click “Add”, then

“Advanced…”. On the Select Users, Computers… window, click Find Now and look in the result for this user “ISUR_ServerName”. Select this user and click OK twice. On the permission window, make sure the added user is selected and allow Modify, Write permission is checked. Click Apply and OK to exit all windows.

MFP Device Browser Installation

In order to access FaxCore connector from Ricoh MFP, device browser module must be priory installed into the MFP. Device Browsers are provided as SD cards. When inserting the SD card and starting the device, the Device Browser is installed automatically. Also, Ricoh extended JavaScript applications can be installed/uninstalled manually.

WVGA models

1. Insert the SD card of the Device Browser product to the service slot of the device.

2. Turn the device power on. When the copier screen appears, wait for 15 to 30 seconds and then press the System Status key. The Device Browser ("Browser") appears in the list of available applications. Press the "Check" button to start the browser.

* If Device Browser does not appear on the System Status screen, wait and retry later.

* The Device Browser can be accessed from the Home screen if the Browser is registered to the

Home.

The Device Browser can be set as the default screen after the device startup by selecting the

Browser on the [Function Priority] setting in [System Settings].

Access to FaxCore Connector

Once the device browser module is successfully installed, you can access it just like other internet browser, enter the following URL and press enter, and you are welcome by the login page of FaxCore connector.

http://[faxcoreserver]/Ricoh/login.aspx

Replace [faxcoreserver] with FaxCore server name or IP address, follow by web application name you just created in IIS, ie Ricoh, and the login page.

Note:

You may need to add the URL as Favorites, this will allow you to skip the typing every time you are accessing to FaxCore connector.
