1.3 Environmental conditions
Environmental factors such as temperature and humidity can damage the rehab buggy. The manufacturer recommends
not condensing ZIP® at ambient temperatures between -20°C and +40°C and a humidity of 5 to 100%.
Caution: Prolonged exposure to the sun may cause parts of the buggy to become hot. Be sure to!

2 Common Information
2.1 Preface
Thank you for selecting the ZIP® rehab buggy. We have designed this high-quality product to make your life safer and
easier, and we’ve included this manual to help you use and care for it. Please read the following instructions to make sure
you use this product as recommended. If you have any further questions, or if you have any problems, please contact your
healthcare provider.
We hope that ZIP meets your expectations. We reserve technical modifications regarding the specified model in this
manual. Before using the rehab buggy the first time, this manual has to be read and understood by patient and support
personnel in oder to ensure a safe handling with the rehab buggy.
2.2 Application
Rehab buggy, paediatric postural positioning systems or strollers are appropriate for childern and adolescents who are
unable to walk or who have a walking impediment and thus requiring mobility assistance.
Assistance may be required due to:
• Atypical muscle tone
• Loss of limbs (dysmelia/lower limb amputation)
• Limb defect and / or deformity
• Joint contractures
• Joint defects
• General weakness
The ZIP rehab buggy is able to be used indoor and outdoor as well as for further service. For further service the product
has to be cleaned and sanitised efficiently. Afterwards the product has to be checked concerning condition, wearout and
damage by an authorised technician. All damaged and inapropptiate parts need to be changed.

2.3 Declaration of Conformity
HOGGI GmbH as manufacturer declares under sole responsibility that the rehab-buggy for kids and adolescents ZIP
meets the general safety and performance requirements to Annex I of the Regulation (EU) 2017/745 of the European
Parliament and of the Council. Harmonised European Standards have been applied.
Applicable harmonized standards have been applied. ZIP meets the requirements of ISO 7176-8, DIN EN ISO 12182
and DIN EN ISO 12183.
2.4 Terms of Warranty
Warranty applies only when the product is used according to the specified conditions and for the intended purposes,
following all manufacturer’s recommendations.The manufacturer is not responsible for damages caused by components
and spare parts not approved by the manufacturer.

2.5 Service and repairs
Service and repairs on the ZIP® rehab buggy should only be carried out by authorized HOGGI dealers. Should any
problems arise, please contact the dealer who supplied your ZIP. Authorized dealers only fit original HOGGI spare parts.
For preparing, repair and service, the following tools are required:
Allen wrench, size: 3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm and 6 mm
Screw wrench, size: 10 mm, 13 mm, 19 mm and 24 mm

Familiarize yourself with handling and functions of the product before use and
practice the various functions.
You are responsible for the safety of your child. The safety of your child could be
affected if you do not follow the instructions of this manual. Nevertheless not all
possible circumstances and unpredictable situations can be covered by this manual.
Reason, care and circumspection are not features of the product, they are required
of persons, who use the product. The person, who is using the product and its
accessories should understand all instructions and should explain them to every
person using the product and its accessories.
If instructions are not clear and further explanations become necessary, or if you
have further questions please contact your HOGGI dealer.
Strap your child at all times, when they are in the rehab buggy.
HOGGI points out, that any use beside the typical use can be dangerous. The rehab
buggy is not suitable for jogging, running, skating or similar activities. Swivelling front
wheels tend to wobble at higher speed, which can cause a sudden stop and tip over
of the buggy.
Use the buggy only at regular walking speed. Under no circumstances leave the
handle bar while pushing and never push the chair away.

The buggy should only be used on solid level ground.
Use your buggy as intended by the manufacturer. For instance, do not drive into
obstacles (including steps, curbs) without braking.
To clear obstacles such as steps and curbs, tilt the buggy onto the rear wheels
(pull it backwards to go up; to descend, slowly lower it forward).
Do not go up or down stairs without the assistance of another person. If devices
such as ramps or elevators are available, please use them. If they are not available,
then the buggy should be carried over the obstacle by two persons.
Pay particular attention when on slopes and inclines to prevent:
- the child from falling out of the buggy
- the buggy from tipping over
- the buggy from rolling away
Only lift the buggy by parts that are solidly attached:
- front frame tube above the front wheels
- front axle
- push handle
If you have to park on a slope, face the buggy uphill with the brakes engaged and
ensure that the seat is in the upright position.
There is a risk that the buggy might tip over backwards if the seat is the reclined
position.
Before leaving the buggy and before getting into and out of it, always lock the wheel
locks.
When your child reaches for objects in front, to the side or behind the buggy, be
sure that he/she does not lean out of the buggy too far since the shift in the center of
gravity might cause the buggy to tilt or tip over.
The handling of the buggy is strongly influenced by tyre pressure. Correctly inflate
tyres considerably improve its maneuverability.
The air pressure should be at least 2 bar (200 kPa resp. 29 PSI).

Please be aware that with certain footrest settings the footrest can collide with
the caster wheels.
Please keep packaging material away from children. Plastic packaging
presents the danger of suffocation.
Never leave your child unattended in the buggy even when they are strapped in and
the brakes engaged.
In the dark, the user should wear light clothing or clothing with reflectors in order to
improvevisibility. Ensure that the reflectors if installed are easily visible.
We also recommend installing active illumination.
Before using the buggy, both folding guards and the seat must be firmly locked in
place.
Static stability is at >15° inclination.
Attaching heavy bags or other weight to the push handles can adversely affect stability.
Caution!
Regard specially during adjusting the recline, the tilt in space function and the
footrest hanger angle the danger of getting caught for the child by protruding arms or
legs into flexible parts of the ZIP.
Don´t use the footrest to get into and out of the buggy generally.
Use the footrest with shoes only.
The rehab buggy is only intended to carry one child at a time.
Disposal of waste: The packaging material as far as metal, aluminium and plastic
parts can be recycled. The recycling must be operated according to the national and
legal terms.

Caution!
All upholsteries are hardly inflammable and meet the claim EN 1021 part 1
(cigarette test) and part 2 (match test). But that doesn`t protect the user in the seat
unit to suffer burnings by careless handling with blaze or open fire.
For storage in the folded situation don`t charge the base frame (if the tie down kit is
mounted).
Accessories and add-ons reduce the maximum load proportionately.
We recommend that, wherever and whenever possible users transfer to the seats
installed in the motor vehicle and use the corresponding vehicle restraint systems,
because this is the only way to ensure optimum protection of the passengers in case
of an accident.
Your ZIP® rehab buggy was successfully tested in accordance with
ANSI/RESNA WC/19 and ISO 7176/19 (Crashtest).
It is, however, possible to use your ZIP rehab buggy as a seat in a motor vehicle, if
our “Tie down Kit” (article 3231-7300) as well as appropriate restraint systems are
used. Your ZIP® is admitted for use as a seat in a motor vehicle yet.
This rehab buggy is equipped with back angle and seat tilt adjustment. Turn the
toggle lever on the backrest and let engage the backrest in the first position. Using
the seat tilt adjustment you must bring the backrest into almost upright position (max.
20°). Observe the specifications under 5.9 and 5.17 in this user manual.
Caution!
Excess strap ends on accessories may be trapped in the tilt mechanism and can
avoid the engagement of the locking pins. In such a case the seat could fall off
the mobility base.
Shorten excess strap ends on accessories so that they can not be trapped.
Check by pulling the seat sharply forward that the seat unit is properly engaged.
Check that the locking pins are completely engaged. Push in completely, if necessary.

The assembly of a seat shell is only permitted within the specified seating area.
The manufacturer of that new product combination has to test the stability and the
adherence of the maximum load before commissioning.
Neither the maximum seat depth nor the maximum back height must be exceeded
(see chapter 9).
Please read to visually handicapped people the manual and info material - or use
electric aids. Please download or read all ZIP documents on our webside
www.hoggi.de. In addition, product videos and product photo galleries are available
online!
Whenever you change any settings on the ZIP, make sure that you firmly tighten any
screws that have been loosened.
Check the condition of the product if the packaging shows damages.
Be careful in case of extreme temperatures. The rehab buggy can heat up
significantly when in the sun or in the sauna. In extreme cold, there is a risk of
hypothermia. For persons with insensitive skin (ie persons who can not perceive
a temperature increase) and / or with skin damage, care must be taken that metal
parts do not reach too high a temperature. In these cases, it is imperative to wear
appropriate garments to protect the skin.
The HOGGI seat cushion (Trevira CS) as well as the HOGGI nylon backrest and
seat cover are flame resistant referred to the EN 1021-1 and EN 1021-2 norm. When
using other cushions and back cushions, as the original supplied by HOGGI or used
in addition padding, the flame retardant effect is not given.
Always make sure that the quick-release fastener on the rear wheel engages correctly.

4 Delivery and Preparing for Use
The original package contains the following components:
• Rehab Buggy, folded
• instructions for use and special tools as required
• accessories as ordered
Carefully remove the transport safety items and packaging material.
To unfold the Rehab Buggy please proceed as follows:
• Lift the buggy using the black handle grips on the push handles and
unfold it until you can set it on its wheels.
Caution!
Never hold on to anything else than the described
movable parts, especially the scissors mechanism!
Crushing injury may occur!
• Press the push handles backward until the folding guards engage.
• Check both folding guards and engage them if necessary.

• Push down on the folding lever on the backrest until detent lug.
• Pull the release cable as shown towards the edge of the footrest in
order to make lock pins move towards the inside.
• Swing the footrest to the desired angle and let the lock pins snap in
place.
• The image shows the unfolded footrest.
If your Rehab Buggy is equipped with the „footboard assembly
straight“ proceed as follows:
• Move the footboard into the inside.

• Move the footboard downward.
• Make sure that the latching gets quided info the footboard bracket.
• Lock the footboard with the snapper.
• Make sure that the footboard is locked.
For folding the Rehab Buggy repeat the procedure in reversed
order.
5 Adjusting and Adaptation Possibilities
5.1 Wheel lock
To put the wheel lock on push the wheel lock lever downwards and
roll the buggy slightly back or forward, so that the lock pins can
engage in the brake disc. Never use force! This could damage the
quick releases and the wheels could fall off and cause injuries. The
wheel lock should not be actuated while the push chair is moving!

• To disengage the wheel lock pull the wheel lock lever upwards with
your toe.
5.2 Recline
• After slight opening of the star handles on both sides the backrest can
be adjusted to desired angle.
• Tighten star handles afterwards.
Whenever you change any settings on the
ZIP® Rehab Buggy make sure that you firmly
tighten any screws that have been loosened.
5.3 Lower leg length
• After loosening hexagon socket head cap screw on both clamping
devices the footrest can be adjusted in height. Make sure that the
footrest is on the same level on both sides before tightening the
hexagon socket head cap screw.
• Depending on the length of the lower leg, it may be necessary to
remove the screw connection (A) before moving the footrest.

• Before moving the clamping devices move the clamping device past
the screw joint. The screw joint must be affixed afterwards.
• If the lower leg length adjustment is blocked by screw joint (A) the
clamping device can be dismounted and remounted the other way
around.
• For that purpose the entire footrest must be drawn off from the footrest
adapter. The right clamping device must be exchanged with the left
clamping device.
Whenever you change any settings on the
ZIP Rehab Buggy make sure that you firmly
tighten any screws that have been loosened.
• The minimum lower leg length adjustment of 20 cm can only be
reached with the depicted mounting alternative and is limited due to a
detent lug.
• The maximum lower leg length adjustment of 39 cm can only be
reached with the depicted mounting of the clamping device.
If the clamping device is flush with the tube end,
maximum lower leg length adjustment is reached.

5.4 Footrest angle adjustment
• Pull the release belt towards the edge of the footrest in order to move
the lock pins towards the inside.
• Swing the footrest to the desired angle and let the lock pins snap in
place.
• Since the clamping device can be turned around the snap in positions
are available twice.
5.5 Seat depth
• After loosening and removing the screw joints of the seat cover and
the seat rails the seat can be mounted in two to three different seat
depths by any authorized dealer.
Whenever you change any settings on the
ZIP Rehab Buggy make sure that you firmly
tighten any screws that have been loosened.
5.6 Detaching wheels with quick release
In order to achieve a most compact folding package the rear wheels
of all models are detachable by quick release hubs. To detach press
the quick release spring towards the middle of the wheel and pull the
wheel from the axle.
To attach the wheel push it onto the axle until the quick release
engages automatically. Ensure that the wheel is securely held onto
the axle by pulling the wheel without operating the quick release.
5.7 Pneumatic tyres (option)
• All wheels are equipped with pneumatic tyres. Maintain proper
pressure at all times. Notice the air pressure indicated on the
tyre.
6 Accessories
All accessories which are not installed by the manufacturer must be installed by trained technicians.
The following notes on installation are for your information but should be performed by trained technicians.
All accessories indicated with (*) has to be removed before folding the Rehab-Buggy.
Straps on accessories are usually extra long to accommodate every option. Excess strap ends
on accessories may be trapped by interfolding the Rehab Buggy. Shorten excess strap ends on
accessories so that they can not be trapped. To prevent strap ends from fraying the cut ends can be
melted together with a flame. (eg. cigarette lighter)

6.1 Swivel lock
• The swivel lock is mounted by the manufacturer or an authorized
dealer.
• To lock the swivel lock turn the lock pin by 90° and let it engage in the
designated hole in the castor fork.
• To open the swivel lock pull the lock pin, turn it by 90° so that it stays
in the disengaged position.
• After loosening the clamping screw the track can be adjusted with
engaged swivel lock.
6.2 Attendant brake
• The ZIP® Rehab Buggy can be fitted with an attendant brake. The
brake mechanism can be operated with two independent brake lever.
The attendant brake is designed to be a brake and not
a wheel lock for parking. For parking the original
wheel lock remains in function.
Adjustments:
The attendant brake set is pre adjusted. Nevertheless, if adjustments
become necessary just after installation or after a period of use there
are the following option:
At the exit of each brake housing a cranked set screw leads the
brake cable away from the tire of the rear wheel. After loosening the
counter nut the pre tension of the individual (left or right) brake can
be adjusted.
Tighten the counter nut firmly again and ensure that the crank of the
set screw shows towards the rear frame away from the tire.
6.3 Tie down kit
• Your ZIP® Rehab Buggy has been tested successfully (Crashtest).
Using our tie down kit (article 3210-7300) and the application of
adequate restraint systems your ZIP Rehab Buggy is approved for the
application in vans for disabled.
For transportation the tie down belt will be attached to the floor pan
and the restraint system (lap belt, three-point belt) will be affixed to
the child (also see chapter 7 Transport).

6.4 Foldable back rest upholstery
• Your ZIP® Rehab Buggy can be equipped with an foldable backrest
upholstery and a foldable seat upholstery respectively.
• Both cushions are compatible with a five-point harness
• In order to attach the backrest upholstery lay the cushion onto the
nylon cover of the backrest and secure the backrest upholstery with
the Velcro fasteners on the top and bottom edge of the nylon cover.
6.5 Foldable seat upholstery
• The foldable seat upholstery will be attached to the nylon cover of the
seat with Velcro fasteners, just like the backrest upholstery.
6.6 Headrest and anatomical neck headrest
• Select the desired height position for the headrest.
• Guide the threaded pins of the headrest through the eyelets of the
backrest cover from the front as shown.
• Secure the headrest at the back using the quick-release fasteners
attached to the fastening strap.

Both headrests are fitted identically as described above.
6.7 Abduction block
The ZIP® can be equipped with a swing away and detachable
abduction block. The swing away abduction wedge can be swung
downwards to facilitate access.
For insertion
• Insert the abduction block into the holder as shown.
• Move the abduction block upwards until it audibly engages in the
holder.
To swing away:
• Position yourself in front of the rehab buggy and operate the locking
hook with one hand as shown and swivel the abduction block
downwards with the other hand.

For dismounting:
• Pull the abduction block out forwards with one hand as shown.
6.8 Groin strap
• Position yourself behind the rehab buggy.
• Loosen the screw connection on the locking stay and remove the cap
nut and washer.

• Now position the “rectangular ring with plastic loop” (1) in front of the
washer (2) and secure the screw connection with the cap nut (3).
• Pay attention to the alignment of the “rectangular ring with plastic
loop” (1).
• Place the groin strap on the seat and guide the belt ends backwards
as shown.
• Position yourself behind the rehab buggy and guide one end of the
belt from below through the “rectangular ring” and through the bar
buckle as shown.
• Proceed in the same way on the other side.

• Remove both buckles and guide the strap from the inside to the
outside with the side that does not have a loop, right and left through
the slotted holes on the frame.
• Now pass the end of the belt through the loop at the other end of the
belt.
• Then make sure that the sliding element of the buckle is pulled
upwards and guide the belt through it. through it.
• Press down the sliding element and guide the belt through the
opening as shown.
• Place the child in the rehab buggy on the groin strap
• The thigh straps are passed between the legs and over the thighs to
the outside, whereby the part of the thigh strap to which the buckle is
attached should lie on the pelvic bone.
• Now insert the plugs on the tensioning straps into the buckles on the
thigh straps.
• The thigh strap can be tightened by pulling on the free end of the
strap.
• To release the connectors, simply press the release button on the
connector.
6.6 Lap belt
• On each end of the lap belt you can find pre mounted triglides which
are passed by the belt only once. The length of the free belt ends
determine the length of the complete lap belt. Pass the free belt ends
through the designated slots in the lower part of the back base.

• Then thread the belt ends once again through the triglides.
• Open the lap belt by pushing the red key on the buckle. The lap belt
can be adjusted by pulling the belt end next to the buckle.
6.7 Five-point harness
Preparation/Installation:
• There are several holes in different heights on the back covering.
Fix the buckle as shown using the black plastic washers and self
securing nuts at the desired height on the back covering.
• There are several holes on the seat covering in various depths. Fix the
buckle at the end of the (middle)-belt in the desired position. Start the
mounting below with the lens head screw M5x14, and fix it above with
a washer and the selfsecuring M5 cap nut. The position should be
closest to the body but not under the bottom.
The back rest upholstery can be pushed over the
belt ends and attached with Velcro fasteners. The
seat cushion can be mounted to the seat with Velcro
fasteners and the belt of the belt buckle can be run
through the opening in the seat cushion.
• The ends of the five-point lap belt are mounted as described in 6.6 lap
belt and the length is roughly initialized.
To take the five point harness off proceed as follows:
• Press the red key on the buckle.

• Press the keys of the length adjusters and pull the strap out so that
approx 5 cm (2 inches) of the strap end remains.
• Create wide loops which allow to move the arms of your child out of
the harness easily.
• Lift your child out of the seat.
To put the five point harness on proceed as follows:
• Place your child into the seat.
• Put the elbow of your child through one of the shoulder strap loops
first and then the forearm and hand.
• Proceed with the other arm the same way.
• Put the buckle members one after each other into the buckle.
• Tighten shoulder and lap straps by pulling the strap ends coming out
of the length adjuster.
6.8 Ankle hugger
• Ankle huggers allow a comfortable fixation of the foot joints. They are
fixed to anchors on the foot plate. The heel should be placed against
the heel plate of the footrest. The belts are opened/closed and
adjusted with velcro straps.
6.9 Grap rail with upholstery
• Push the Grab rail as depicted into the adapter at the end of the seat
rail. While you do it keep squeezing the spring buttons.
• The grab rail is bent and therefore it can be inserted towards the child
or away from it.

• Open the grab rail by pressing the release buttons and pulling the rail
all the way out.
The cover can be removed after opening the zipper.
6.10 Therapy tray
• The therapy tray will be attached and removed just like the grab rail.
After loosening the clamping lever height and angle of the tabletop
are adjustable.
Notice the maximum load capacity of the therapy tray
Trays must not be loaded with objects heavier
than 5 kg (11 lb).
6.11 Winter warmer
• Zippers allow the upper part of the winter warmer to be opened or
removed.
• Place the winter warmer in the stroller and tie with the straps.
• For securing the winter warmer pull the straps to the outside and
attach to the rear frame.
• Before folding the rehab-buggy the winter warmer has to be removed.
6.12 Rain cape
• With the zip-fastener open pull the rain cape over the child’s head,
then unfold the upper end over the backrest and the lower end around
the footrest.

6.13 Canopy with rain cover
Delivery and preparing for use:
• If not done due to delivery in factory, your authorized dealer will mount
the canopy adapters to the left and right side of the frame.
• Insert the male pins of the canopy into the canopy adapter.
• Adjustable ratchet joints are used to set the angle of the canopy.
• Spread the canopy and wrap over the backrest of the seat.
• Canopy with Rain Cover:
Take the rain cover out of the bag attached to the wrap, unfold the
rain cover, pull it over the unfolded canopy and put it over the footrest
assembly.
• The illustration shows the attached rain cover.
• For folding the Rehab-Buggy the canopy does not have to be
removed.
• Fold the canopy as shown onto the seat.
• Continue by interfolding the Rehab-Buggy as described in chapter 4.

6.14 Buggy-Board
• For the transportation of a second child the ZIP Rehab Buggy can be
equipped with a detachable Buggy-Board.
• The adapters have to be mounted to the rear frame, above the rear
wheels as shown in the picture.
6.15 Sun shade
• For sun screening the ZIP® Rehab Buggy can be equipped with a sun
shade.
• In order to attach the sun shade screw the adapter on the top end of
one push Handle as depicted.
• The sun shade can be removed from the adapter due to a adapter
system whereas the adapter remains on the push handle by
interfolding the Rehab Buggy.
6.16 Nylon bag for transport
• The customized carriage bag for the ZIP® Rehab Buggy is made of
permanent nylon and serves as a carriage bag and a mud guard.
7 Transport
7.1 In the Trunk of a Car
• Due to its compact folding size the ZIP Rehab Buggy can be stored in
any trunk.
• Please make sure to secure the buggy against slipping.

7.2 Using ZIP for bus transport
according to ISO 7176-19 and ANSI / RESNA WC-4
7.2.1 Common information
• Check that your rehab buggy is suitable for a crash test.
• Check that the vehicle is equipped and compatible for transporting your rehab buggy.
• There should also be enough space for safe transport.
• Ensure an upright sitting position during transport.
Please note that improper use of a rehab buggy
in a wheeled ambulance can be dangerous
beyond typical use. Failure to follow this advice
will result in serious injury or death.
7.2.2 Securing the rehab buggy during bus transport
We recommend that, wherever and whenever possible users transfer to the seats installed in the
motor vehicle and use the corresponding vehicle restraint systems, because this is the only way
to ensure optimum protection of the passengers in case of an accident. Your ZIP® rehab buggy
was successfully tested in accordance with ANSI/RESNA WC/19 and ISO 7176/19 (Crash Test). It
is, however, possible to use your ZIP® rehab buggy as a seat in a motor vehicle, if our “Tie down
Kit” (article 3231-7300) as well as appropriate restraint systems are used. Your ZIP is admitted for
use as a seat in a motor vehicle yet.
The rehab buggy may only be used forward in the direction of travel.
The rehab buggy was dynamically tested in the direction of travel while the dummy was
attached with lap belt and shoulder strap.
1) If the user finds itself in the rehab buggy, the rehab buggy has to be positioned forward and has to be fixed with
the fastening and safety belts according to the instruction for use of the restraint system manufacturer (fastening belts
referred to WTORS need to fulfil the requirements of ISO 10542 or SAE J2249).
2) The buggy has not been tested for transportation in another position.
The transportation in a lateral directed position for instance is not allowed at all.
3) Depending on the size of the buggy the maneuverability can be impaired,
so that the turning of the buggy is not or only partially possible, to position
the buggy forward in the direction of travel.
4) The buggy has to be fixed with a restraint system referred to ISO 10542
or SAE J2249 with fixed belts in the front and adjustable belts in the back.
Usually this concerns snap hooks/ s-shaped hooks as well as plug closures.
The restraint systems usually consist of 4 single belts, which have to be attached to the 4 edges of the buggy.
The attachment points of the buggy restraint systems are marked with the international hook symbol.
5) The rehab buggy may also be supplemented for transport with other positioning and fixation systems. However,
these are not a substitute for passenger and rehab buggy restraint systems and may limit user comfort.

Without consulting the manufacturer, no changes may be made to the attachment points of the
buggy or to components of the chassis and frame or they may not be exchanged. Failure to
comply with these requirements, the buggy must not be transported in vehicles.
In order to reduce the risk of injury to vehicle occupants, tools that are not specifically designed
for crash safety, should be removed and stored separately in the vehicle safely such. eg
crutches, loose pillows, therapy tables etc.
7.2.3 Buckling the rehab buggy passenger
The user has to be buckled up with the lap belt as well as the shoulder belt.
Shoulder and lap belts should be used to minimize and / or avoid potential injury from impact on
vehicle components.
1) The person executing the attachment should be trained in the handling of the system.
2) Before transportation the following adjustments of the rehab buggy have to be carried out:
Seat:
0° - 5°
Backrest:
90° - 100°
Footrest:
90°
3) The angle between lap belt and horizontal has to be 30°- 75°. An angle close to 75° is preferable.
4) The shoulder belt has to run across to chest and shoulder. The belt may not butt at the neck and may not be
attached loose from the shoulder.
5) The belt strap may not be twisted.
6) The user‘s head should be additionally secured by a separate and permanently mounted headrest in the bus.
7) Please lock the drum brake firmly.
8) Please lock the manual brake firmly.
9) Remember, however: In the event of a traffic accident, the risk of injury can only be minimized and not ruled
out, even if the passenger and rehab buggy restraint systems are used correctly.

Lap belt and shoulder belt need to butt plane on the body.
As far as possible all additives should be detached and stored securely:
• crutches, loose cushions and therapy trays
You should not rely on the occupant restraint systems unless they are marked in accordance
with the requirements of ISO 7176-19: 2008.
Care should be taken that the occupant restraint is positioned so that in the event of an accident,
the release button is not triggered by buggy components and results in unintentional opening
of the seat belts.
Before reusing the buggy after a collision or an accident with a bus, the buggy may no longer be
used for transport in a bus until it has been checked for possible damage by authorized personnel
and then released again.

8 Maintenance / Service and Repairs and operating life
8.1 Maintenance / Service and Repairs
Your ZIP® rehab buggy is CE approved. The manufacturer herewith guarantees that this medical product as a
whole conforms to the basic safety and performance requirements in accordance with Annex I to Regulation
(EU) 2017/745 of the EU Parliament and of the Council. The rehab buggy should be checked for correct function before every use. The items listed in the following table must be checked by the user at the indicated intervals. Failure to carry out these simple checks may lead to problems arising that could invalidate the warranty.

Should any defects become obvious, please contact your authorized HOGGI dealer to eliminate them.
We also recommend that you have your ZIP serviced by your authorized dealer every twelve months.
Instructions for cleaning and maintenance
- Clean all frame components and plastic parts using mild detergents only. (e.g. Sagrotan)
- Padding parts can be washed at 40 °C. If washed in a washing machine, put them in a
linen bag or a pillow case.
- In most cases, wiping with a damp cloth is sufficient
- Do not use your ZIP buggy in salt water.
- Keep sand or other particles from damaging the wheel bearings
- If your ZIP gets wet, towel-dry it as soon as possible.
- Hair and dirt particles generally accumulate between the caster wheel and fork. This can
restrict the caster wheels from rotating smoothly. Remove the caster and thoroughly clean
the fork and caster using a mild detergent
- The rear wheels feature a quick-release system. To keep this system operational, ensure
that no dirt adheres to the quick-release axle or axle housing. The quick-release axle
should also be lightly lubricated regularly with resin-free sewing machine oil.
- Screw connections should be checked frequently, in particular when beginning to use the
buggy and after any adjustment. If a screw connection becomes loose repeatedly, consult
your dealer.
8.2 Operating life ZIP
The expected operating life of the ZIP rehab buggy is 5 years, depending on intensity of use and maintenance.
We recommend an annual inspeciton by an authorized HOGGI dealer. In case of an interference or a damage
of the rehab buggy it has to be checked immediately by a dealer or a medical supply store.
