Frequently asked questions

KTR CLAMPEX 620 is a type of clamping set that is used for transmitting torque and axial force in various applications where a detachable shaft-hub connection is needed without the use of a feather key.

CLAMPEX KTR 620 consists of an external ring, an internal ring, and hexagon screws (see Illustration 3 in the viewed document).

The acceptable tolerances for the shaft diameter depend on the size of the clamping set. For shaft diameters equal to or less than 160 mm, the tolerance is h6/H7, while for shaft diameters greater than 160 mm, the tolerance is g6H7. Refer to Illustration 2 in the viewed document for details.

First, ensure the taper surfaces and clamping screws are properly lubricated with Molykote MoS2. Then, position the clamping set on the hub/hollow shaft and push it onto the shaft. Hand-tighten the clamping screws and align the external clamping set with the hub and hollow shaft. Finally, tighten the clamping screws evenly in several revolutions until the front surfaces on the screw head side are flush. (refer to the detailed instructions and illustrations in the viewed document for assembly steps).
