KTR MINEX-S Operating/Mounting Instructions

KTR MINEX-S is a permanent-magnetic synchronous coupling designed for transmitting torque without contact. It utilizes magnetic forces to separate the product space reliably from the atmosphere, making it suitable for pumps, agitators, and other applications requiring containment. This type of coupling is available with containment shrouds made from stainless steel or Hastelloy®, offering high levels of resistance to pressure and temperature.

Frequently asked questions

The maximum operating temperature is 300°C for magnets made of Sm2Co17 and 150°C for magnets made of NdFeB. This information is valid for containment shrouds made of Hastelloy®.

The containment shroud is assembled by pushing it over the internal rotor and screwing it to the adapter flange using cap screws. Make sure to tighten the cap screws evenly crosswise gradually in several revolutions to the specified tightening torque.

The displacement figures provided in the table are maximum values that must not be exceeded. The figures consider factors like thermal expansion or foundation settling and ensure safe operation of the coupling. For applications in potentially explosive atmospheres (explosion group IIC), only half of the displacement figures are permissible.
