KTR SYNTEX-NC Operating/Mounting Instructions

KTR SYNTEX-NC is a torque limiting, backlash-free overload system that protects adjacent components from damage. In case of overload, the torque is significantly reduced to a lower residual torque. SYNTEX-NC is not a load-holding coupling. It re-engages after a set rotation depending on the model, either every 15° (ratchet design) or after 360° (synchronous design). The system is designed for applications where protection against overload is crucial.

Frequently asked questions

The SYNTEX-NC overload system is designed to protect connected components from damage caused by overload situations. It limits the torque transmitted through the coupling, preventing excessive forces from damaging machinery.

When an overload occurs, the SYNTEX-NC coupling disengages, limiting the torque transmitted to a pre-set value. This prevents damage to connected components. After disengagement, the coupling re-engages automatically after a specific rotation, depending on the model and design.

SYNTEX-NC couplings are available in two main types: DK (ratchet design) and SK (synchronous design). The DK type re-engages every 15° after an overload, while the SK type re-engages after a full 360° rotation.
