Frequently asked questions
The SCT RC4-Director Kit is an integration solution that allows you to connect a Polycom Group Series camera to your existing SCT codec, enabling remote camera control and video conferencing.
The PowerSniffer™ technology within the RC4-CE Camera Module automatically detects the connection and provides power to the camera through the CAT5e or CAT6 cable.
The minimum distance required between the camera and codec is 30 feet (9 meters). You must use a CAT5e or CAT6 cable wired for either UTP 568A or UTP 568B.
The kit comes with the following cables: RCC-C029, RCC-C030, and RCC-H030, which vary in length based on your configuration.
This indicates that the LINK cable is active and successfully connected to both the RC4-HE and RC4-CE modules.
The PowerSniffer™ will only display 8 green LEDs if the LINK cable is properly terminated. Otherwise, you will need to re-terminate the cable.
