Always remove the plug from the wall outlet after each use. 1. Wipe the appliance body with a damp cloth only, as the appliance is not dishwasher safe. The jar can be hand-washed carefully with mild, soapy water. The jar has a sharp 7 blade for grinding coffee beans in the bottom of it, so care must be taken while cleaning. The jar cover and small jar cover are dishwasher-safe. Never immerse the appliance in water or fill the jar with water. 2. The jar cover and the small jar cover are both dishwasher-safe. 3. Wipe the jar and the blades with a lint-free cloth. Be very careful as the blades are sharp. GRINDING TIPS 1. A coarse grind is generally used for percolators and coffee urns. A medium grind is used for drip coffee makers and steam espresso machines. A fine grind is used for electric espresso machines. The amount of time you spend grinding your coffee beans will determine whether the grind is coarse, medium, or fine. 2. Vary the grinding times to suit your tastes and the type of coffee beans you are using. 3. Coffee beans will keep up to two months in the freezer in an airtight container and can be ground while still frozen. For the freshest, most flavourful coffee, grind only enough for the pot you are making. Coffee grounds left in your grinder will become stale and adversely affect the flavour of the coffee. Make sure to clean the jar, blades, and jar covers after each use. 4. In addition to grinding coffee beans, you may also grind the following ingredients: Ingredient Grinding time or until desired consistency Coffee beans 85 g (3 oz) 30 seconds Pepper 30 g (1 oz) 30 seconds Star Anise 30 g (1 oz) 30 seconds Dried Peanuts 30 g (1 oz) 30 seconds Sea Salt 30 g (1 oz) 30 seconds NOTE: The maximum amount of any ingredient should not exceed the MAX line on the bowl exterior.
