For further details please see the user manual for the specific system in which the CFAST SSD card must be installed or replaced. ATTENTION: Read this document and the documents listed in the Additional Resources section about installation, configuration, and operation of this equipment before you install, configure, operate, or maintain this product. Users are required to familiarize themselves with installation and wiring instructions in addition to requirements of all applicable codes, laws, and standards. Activities including installation, adjustments, putting into service, use, assembly, disassembly, and maintenance are required to be carried out by suitably trained personnel in accordance with applicable codes of practice. If this equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection provided by the equipment may be impaired. WARNING: Use only approved CFAST SSD cards for industrial application. CFAST SSD cards that are intended for other uses (for example: digital cameras and other consumer products) may not have the endurance, performance, reliability, and data protection that is required for industrial applications (for example, in case of sudden power off). ATTENTION: Keep away from electrostatic sources or magnetic fields. Do not bend, drop or impact the card. Avoid heat, water, and direct sunlight. The operating system views the CFast SSD card as a hard disk. Proper handling and care of the CFAST SSD card helps to extend the life of the card. Before installing or removing a card: • Shut down the operating system. • Remove all power from the device. Installation WARNING: POTENTIAL DATA LOSS. Do not remove the CFAST SSD card while data are being accessed. Data on the CFAST SSD card may be lost if you remove it while the system is accessing its data. WARNING: CFAST SSD card orientation. The CFast slot is keyed to prevent you from inserting the card incorrectly. Use only a reasonable amount of force to insert the card. If it is difficult to apply the correct amount of force to insert the card, check the CFAST SSD card orientation. 1. 2. Insert the (push) the CFAST SSD card into the slot. If you have inserted the card correctly, the rear label of the CFast is visible. Removal 1. 2. Push and release the CFAST SSD card. Extract the CFAST SSD card from the slot. Serving as statistical reference, the prediction result for is more than 3,000,000 hours. The MTBF is predicated and calculated based on “Telcordia Technologies Special Report”, SR-332, Issue 3” method. Endurance The endurance of a storage device is predicted by DWPD (Drive Writes Per Day) based on several factors related to usage, such as the amount of data written into the drive, block management conditions, and daily workload for the drive. DWPD is calculated based on the number of times that user overwrites the entire capacity of the CFast per day of its lifetime during the warranty period.
