Frequently asked questions

The 1492 Conversion Module allows you to convert signals from Allen-Bradley 1771 I/O modules to 1756 ControlLogix I/O modules without removing field wires. It provides a connection point for the 1771 swing arm and routes signals through the conversion module and cable to the 1756 I/O module.

There are two types of 1492 cables offering different lengths: 1492-CONACAB005A (0.5M) and 1492-CONACAB005B (1.0M). The cable length is denoted by the last two digits (005 = 0.5M, 010 = 1.0M).

The appropriate Conversion Mounting Assembly is selected based on the number of 1771 and 1756 modules you plan to convert. Refer to Table 1 in the manual to determine the required number of slots for conversion modules and I/O modules.
