IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE
When using this electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:
1.
Do not leave the vacuum cleaner unattended when plugged in. Unplug from the outlet when not
in use, and before servicing.
2.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
3.
Use only as described in this manual. Use only with Dihl’s recommended attachments.
4.
Do not use with a damaged cable or plug. If the vacuum cleaner is not working as it should, has
been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, take it to a professional service
center.
5.
Do not pull or carry by the power cable, close doors on the cable, or pull the cable around sharp
edges or corners. Do not run the vacuum cleaner over the cable, and keep it away from heated
surfaces.
6.
Do not unplug by pulling on the power cable. To disconnect, use the plug itself.
7.
Do not handle the vacuum cleaner or plug with wet hands.
8.
Do not put any object into any of the openings. Do not use with any opening blocked. Keep free
of dust, lint, hair and anything that may reduce airflow.
9.
Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
10.
Turn all controls off before unplugging.
11.
Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
12.
Do not use the vacuum cleaner on any flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use
in areas where they may be present.
13.
Hold the plug when rewinding onto the cable reel. Do not allow the plug to whip when rewinding.
14.
Unplug before connecting the hose.
15.
Do not vacuum anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
16.
Do not use without cylinder/filters in place.
17.
If the supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by a professional in order to avoid hazard.
18.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
19.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

PREVENTION
Switch off the vacuum cleaner immediately if the air intakes, floor brushes or telescopic tube becomes
blocked. Before starting the vacuum cleaner up again remove the cause of the blockage.
1. Never use the vacuum cleaner in the immediate
vicinity of heat sources and do not suck up hot
objects such as cigarette ends or ashes.
2. Only place the plug in the socket when your
hands are dry.
3. Remove large sharp objects from the floor before
using the vacuum cleaner to avoid any possible
damage to it and yourself.
4. Do not pull by the mains cable when pulling out
the plug.

PREPARING THE VACUUM CLEANER
1. Fit the hose on the vacuum cleaner by inserting
the hose connector into the vacuum
cleaner until you hear a click. To remove,
press the button at the side of the hose
connector and pull it out.
2. Assemble the telescopic tube and accessories:
2.1 Fit the telescopic tube into the other end of the hose.
2.2 Adjust the length of the telescopic tube by pushing
the locking mechanism down and pulling in the
bottom section of the tube to a suitable length.
When storing, shorten the tube as far as possible.
2.3 Fit the floor brush into the telescope tube.
Floor Nozzle
The floor nozzle has two settings. When cleaning
hard surfaces (parquet flooring, flooring tiles, etc.),
the nozzle brushes should be extended. When cleaning
carpets and mats, the brushes should be retracted into
the nozzle. Press A or B to switch between the two settings.
Crevice Nozzle
For radiators, corners, skirtings, etc.
Furniture Nozzle
For furniture, curtains, drapes, etc.

USE
Vacuum Cleaning
1. Before using the device first pull out a sufficient length of cable and plug into the mains socket.
The yellow mark on the cable is the maximum length and must not be exceeded.
2. To switch on the device, press the
button on the casing with your foot.

with one hand and guide the cable with the other
3. To rewind the power cable, press the button
hand to ensure that it does not whip.
Emptying Dust Container

Empty the dust container when the contents reach the
“MAX” mark or the suction power has dropped:
1. Switch off the vacuum cleaner and disconnect the plug from
the mains. Always pull on the plug and not on the cable.
2. Release the container by pressing down the release button.
3. Lift the container forwards out of the cylinder vacuum cleaner.
4. When emptying the dust container, hold it low over the dustbin.
5. Press the open button. The base opens and the dust runs into
the dustbin.
6. Carefully knock the remaining dust loose.
7. Close the base.

8. Place the dust container onto the vacuum cleaner.
9. Check that the dust container is securely seated.

Cleaning the Motor Filter
1. Turn off and unplug the vacuum cleaner.

2. Remove the dust container.
3. Open the dust container cover and take the filter out.
4. Hold the filter inside a dustbin and gently knock against the side.
5. Place the motor filter back into its holder.
6. Replace the filter cover by hooking it precisely from above first.
Then engage the lock by pressing until it audibly clicks into place.
7. Place the dust container back onto the cylinder vacuum cleaner.
8. Check that the dust container is securely seated.
IMPORTANT! Never use the vacuum cleaner without a motor filter.
Cleaning the Exhaust Air Filter
The HEPA exhaust air filter cleans the air a final time before it leaves
the vacuum cleaner. You can clean this filter as follows:
1. Switch off the vacuum cleaner and disconnect the plug
from the mains. To do this always pull on the plug and not
on the cable.

2. Remove the dust container.
3. Open the exhaust filter cover and remove the HEPA filter.
4. Rinse the filter under cold running water only, and allow to
dry for 24 hours.
5. Put the filter back into place.
6. Close the exhaust filter cover.

IMPORTANT! Never clean the HEPA filter with soap or cleaning agent.

TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
1.
You can lift and carry the vacuum cleaner using the carry handle. Never pull or lift the vacuum
cleaner by the cable.
2.
Before putting the vacuum cleaner away, rewind the cable. Switch off the socket, unplug, and
press the cable rewind button until it is fully rewound.
3.
To save space, the vacuum cleaner can be stored upright on its end cover. The telescopic tube
can be hung on the vacuum cleaner by inserting the parking fixture into the vertical parking
holder.
CLEANING
Clean the vacuum cleaner by wiping it with a damp cloth.
You must not use any form of strong, solvent or abrasive cleaning agent.
DISPOSAL INFORMATION
Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle where
facilities exist. Check with your local authority for recycling advice.
WARRANTY
Your new Dihl product is supplied with a warranty of 12 months from the date of purchase.
The product must be used in the manner indicated within this manual.
Any abuse of any parts of the product will invalidate the warranty.
