Replacement of the Oil Filter
Remove as follows:
1. Clean any debris on the filter housing around the oil filter cap.
2. Using a 36-mm socket, unscrew the oil filter cap (1) and filter (3), and allow the oil to drain into the housing (4). After
draining is complete, remove the assembly from the housing (4).
NOTE: For Setra Bus, when removing the filter, separate the cap from the filter before pulling out of the module.
Remove as two separate components.
NOTE: Use care to prevent foreign objects from entering the filter housing.
NOTE: Do not service the air filter with the oil filter cap removed.
3. Remove the filter element by pressing and twisting the side and detaching it from the cap. Discard the filter element.
4. Remove the oil filter O-ring and discard. Lightly coat a new O-ring with clean engine oil and install it on the original filter
cap.
5. Check the filter housing for any debris and remove if necessary.
6. Insert a new filter element and the cap assembly into the housing. Torque the cap to 40-50 N·m (30-37 lb·ft).
