IBM Technical Update New information about your Netfinity IDE server This Technical Update provides information to users of the Netfinity 1000, IDE model. This document addresses the following issues: IDE drive cabling Write through cache Support for Windows NT Server 4.0. IDE drive cabling An IDE hard disk drive is installed in bay 6 and a CD ROM drive is installed in bay 1. The IDE cable connected to the hard disk drive has one available connector. The IDE cable connected to the CD ROM drive has another available connector. You can use these available connectors to install two additional internal IDE devices. Write through cache The IDE drive has write through cache disabled as a standard configuration. This might affect performance in certain applications. Support for Windows NT Server 4.0.
