You can connect the TCD-974 to your Hi-Fi system by connecting the line-out connector (26) to the AUX input of your Hi-Fi system using an RCA cable (not included). Afterwards, turn the internal speaker off using the speaker switch (27).

Connect a USB stick to the device, select 'CD' mode, and press the 'Record' button. The unit will then begin recording the selected track. To record an entire CD, press the 'Record' button while in the CD-Stop mode. The recording will be saved in the existing 'Audio' folder or a new 'Audio' folder if there is no folder present.

Press the 'Sleep' button and the 'Sleep' indicator will appear on the LCD screen. Hold the button down to adjust the timer in the range of 90…80…70…10 minutes. The system will stop after the selected time and automatically enter standby mode. To cancel the sleep mode, press the 'Sleep' button until you reach the 'Off' mode.

Put the device in standby mode, press and hold the 'Timer' button. The LCD screen will display 'Set Timer Select Source'. Press the 'Function' button to change the source, then press the 'Timer' button again. Press the 'Skip Up/Down' buttons to set the hour, then press the 'Timer' button to save the hour. Press the 'Skip Up/Down' buttons to set the minutes, then press the 'Timer' button to save the time.
