Use

high buildings, masts, etc.

Description
Single light - OBI-S (Fig. 1 and 4)
The dome is screwed into the upper body, a gasket ensures
watertightness. The upper body is secured on the lower body by means
of a thumbscrew. These two parts are linked together with a safety cable
enabling lamp changing to be done with one hand only. The lampholder
is secured in the lower body.
Twin light - OBI-DRT (Fig. 2 and 5)
Fixture consisting of two OBI-S lights mounted on a cabinet containing a
transfer relay which has two functions:
1.When the in-use lamp burns out the relay instantaneously transfers the
supply to the standby lamp.
2.The relay has a potential-free contact, signalling to a remote location
that the fitting is working on the standby lamp. Cables enter the
cabinet through compression glands (max. O.D. of cable 15 mm).

controlled locally, remotely or by means of a timeswitch or a photoelectric
switch. Details on application.

Photometric Performance
Lamp: 100 W - 230 V - E 27 base - incandescent
8000 hours rated life at nominal voltage.
The vertical distribution curve (Fig. 6) applies over 360° horizontal. lt shows
that the requirements are met even with a 230 V lamp supplied under 220 V.
Installation
OBI-S
- On a bracket for wall mounting (Fig. 1 and Fig. 7)
- On a 1” gas smooth conduit (34 mm 0.0.) (Fig. 8). The slip fitter has two
pressure screws. The supply cable enters the fitting through the conduit.
Note: The conduit is not part of the supply.

- On a bracket secured under the cabinet (Fig. 5, item 15).
- On a 1” gas threaded conduit with two nuts (Fig. 5, item 18).
- The cabinet itself has four holes, one at each corner, wich can be used to
secure the cabinet directly onto a wall or vertical structure.

Suggested Specification
The Obstruction Light shall be low intensity,
omnidirectional, red in compliance with ICAO
Annex 14, Vol. I., para. 6.3.11 and FAA L-810
class 1 specification.The fittings shall meet IEC
requirements for earthing.
The light shall be equipped with an incandescent
lamp, not more than 100 W - 230 V having a
rated life of at least 8000 hours. The lights shall
allow for wall mounting or for direct installation on
a standard 1” conduit (34 mm O.D.).
The double light shall be equipped with a transfer
relay switching on the standby lamp in case the
main one burns out and closing a contact to
monitor the main lamp failure. All components
shall be suitably protected against corrosion and
the light shall be waterproof. All removable parts
shall be captive and it shall be possible to relamp
the light using one hand only.
