The JBL MSC1 Monitor System Controller
with
RMC ROOM MODE CORRECTION
™
The MSC1 Monitor System Controller includes essential “Monitor Strip” features found in large
mixing consoles so you can take control of all monitoring functions from your place at the mix
position. Since the acoustics of the room can play a big part in what you hear, the MSC1 includes
JBL's highly acclaimed RMC Room Mode Correction Technology to tune your monitor system to
the room. The end-result is a calibrated reference environment in which your speakers work in
harmony with your room to take the guesswork out of mixing.

ROOM MODE CORRECTION
Unless your room was professionally designed, your workspace may suffer from the effect of Room Modes: low
frequency resonance that causes even the most experienced mixers to misjudge bass in the mix. RMC Room Mode
Correction Technology in the MSC1 Monitor System Controller measures response at the mix position and
automatically balances and tunes the system to tackle low frequency problems caused by room modes and
interference with the room's boundaries. System calibration is accomplished using MSC1 Control Center Software,
your computer, and the supplied calibration microphone The software also provides fine-control of monitor EQ,
subwoofer level and cross over settings.
INPUT SOURCE SELECTION AND SPEAKER CONTROL
The MSC1 gives you the ability to monitor up to three 2-channel input sources, such as a mixing
console, computer workstation, and personal MP3 or CD player while controlling the volume of the
monitor system. The MSC1's primary speaker “A” outputs include monitor EQ and RMC to tune the
monitors to the room. A subwoofer can be connected for use with the “A” speakers, and has its own
output level control, selectable crossover settings and RMC to perfectly blend the sub with the
“A” speakers. The “B” speaker outputs allow connection of a second set of speakers. The MSC1 also
has a headphone output with independent level control.
THE MSC1 ADDS THESE PROFESSIONAL “MONITOR-STRIP”
FEATURES TO YOUR SYSTEM:
Master Volume Control • A/B Speaker Select • A/B/C Input Source Select • Subwoofer Output with Level Control and Selectable Crossover Frequencies
Adjustable Low Frequency and High Frequency Speaker EQ • Headphone Output with Volume Control • Monitor Mute Control
