ALBATROSS
Jet diffuser
ALAa
FUNCTION
ALBATROSS ALA is an adjustable-direction jet diffuser designed for maximum performance with under- or over-temperature air at
a height of up 20 metres. The high inductive effect of the air stream ensures efficient mixing with room air. The terminal is suitable
for premises that have a large air volume and high ceilings, such as sports arenas, shopping centres and factories.
QUICK FACTS
• Large airflows
• Can be tilted ±30° in all directions
• Suitable for cooling and heating
• Made from anodized aluminium
• Included in the MagiCAD database

-----------------------------------------------------------------
DESIGN (See Figure 1)
The jet diffuser consists of frame and a nozzle. The nozzle can
be tilted ±30° in any direction relative to the frame. The nozzle
outlet has an adjustable throttle plate for commissioning.
The jet diffuser is available in three different versions to fit rectangular or circular ducts, or to fit to the ends of circular ducts.
MATERIALS AND SURFACE TREATMENT
The jet diffuser is made from anodized aluminium. The diffuser can also be supplied painted in our standard colours. The
adapter for connecting to circular ducts is made from galvanized sheet steel.
PLANNING
The easiest way to determine dimensions for different over- or
under-temperatures is by using the ProAir web diffuser selection program on our website. Diagram 1 shows the vertical
penetration depth for various values of ∆t.
INSTALLATION (See Figure 1)
The jet diffuser is fixed directly to the duct. Holes should be
cut in accordance with the dimension tables.
MAINTENANCE
The jet diffuser does not require any special maintenance, but
should be cleaned as necessary with a mild detergent solution.
ENVIRONMENT
A declaration of construction materials is available on our
website or may be ordered from one of our sales offices.

TECHNICAL DATA
• The sound level in dB(A) applies to rooms with 10 m2
equivalent sound absorption area.
• The throw l0.2 is measured under isothermal flow conditions.
• To calculate the width of the air stream, air velocities in the
occupied zone or sound levels in rooms with other dimensions, please use the ProAir web and ProAc calculation
programs on our website.

Engineering graph – ALA – Supply air
Airflow – Pressure drop – Sound level – Throw
• The graph gives data for ALA when freely suspended.
• This graph should not be used for commissioning.
• The dB(A) values are for rooms with normal acoustic
damping of 4 dB.
• The dB(C) value is normally 6–9 dB higher than the dB(A)
value. For more accurate calculations, see the calculation
template in the chapter on Acoustics in the Technical Information section of the catalogue.
