CONCEALED VERTICAL ROD EXIT DEVICE
Part 1 GENERAL
1.1 SECTION INCLUDES
A. Features:
1. Modern flat touch bar concealed vertical rod panic exit device. This series offers durability, safety and
meets the security demand and access control needs of today.
2. Series 7100 design CVR exit devices are used with Narrow, Medium and Wide aluminum door
applications
3. Series 7100 is non-handed, Field Reversible for LHRB or RHRB doors
4. Outside Unlatching and Dogging by Cylinder Key or Dogging by Hex Key in Touch Bar
5. Top Steel Toggle Latch and Bottom Steel Rod Latch Bolt
6. Units use Standard Mortise Cylinder with MS Type Cam and MP-6182 Cylinder Mounting Pad
7. Standard Units for 36” and 48” door widths (cut bar to fit) and up to 84” in height
8. Can be used on 30” wide doors
9. The exit devices are available in the following finishes:
AL – Aluminum: Anodized extruded aluminum with baked aluminum painted cover caps
DU – Storefront Bronze: Bronze Anodized extruded aluminum with baked storefront bronze

1.2 CERTIFICATIONS
A. Underwriters Laboratories (UL/cUL) listed as Panic Exit Hardware
1.3 SUBMITTALS
A. Product Data: Manufacturer’s data sheets on each product to be used, including:
1. Preparation instructions and recommendations
2. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations
3. Installation methods
B. Shop Drawing: Manufacturer’s approved drawings detail the application
C. Section Samples: Samples are available depicting the finish types
D. Verification Samples: For the finish product specified, two full size samples representing the actual
product, color and size
1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Series 7100 will be provided by a single manufacturer with over
30 years of experience in door closers
1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
A. Store products in manufacturer’s unopened packing until ready for installation
B. No harsh chemicals are used during this process, so no special handling or disposal is required
1.6 PROJECT CONDITIONS
Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by the
manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install this product if environmental conditions are outside the
manufacturer’s limits.
1.7 WARRANTY
After project completion, the owner or owner’s representative will receive a copy of the Manufacturer’s Limited
Warranty against manufacturing defects. The duration of this warranty is 5 years.

PART 3 EXECUTIONS
3.1 EXAMINATION
A. Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared
B. If the substrate is the responsibility of another installer, notify the Architect of any unsatisfactory preparation
before proceeding

B. Repair or replace any damaged products before substantial completion
