IVC iGrip Technical Sheet

IVC iGrip Technical Sheet
iGrip adhesive
IVC iGrip Adhesive is an advanced, cross-linking pressure sensitive adhesive featuring high aggressive peel and shear strength. This
solvent-free, non-flammable, easy troweling product provides excellent installations for luxury vinyl tile and plank, heterogeneous vinyl
sheet goods over both porous and non-porous surfaces. iGrip has low odor, and is very quick and easy to use. It demonstrates
excellent water and alkali resistance and may be used with confidence over a variety of flooring materials. Plasticizer migration
resistance allows installation of a broad variety of vinyl products.
USE OVER: APA registered underlayment grade plywood; terrazzo; existing well adhered tile and sheet goods; radiant heated
subfloors where surface temperatures do not exceed 85° F (29.40° C); and above, on, or below grade concrete in the absence of
hydrostatic pressure, excessive moisture or alkalinity. The pH level of concrete must be between 5 and 9, and moisture level of
concrete must be below 8 lbs./1000 sq. ft./24 hours (3.63 kg/92.9 m²/24 hours) as determined by a calcium chloride test according to
ASTM F-1869 test method. A second testing option is ASTM F-2170, which determines relative humidity in concrete floor slabs using In
Situ Probes, which should be less than 90% RH.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION: Substrate must be sound, smooth, clean, level, dry, and free of dust, dirt, grease, oil, paint,
incompatible curing compounds or sealers, fire retardant chemicals, release agents, or any other foreign substance that might interfere
with a good bond. Subfloor must be smooth and fully adhered. The adhesive, floor covering, and areas to receive flooring must be
maintained at a temperature of 65° to 85° F (18.30° to 29.44°C).
Sheet Installation: Apply adhesive with the recommended trowel and allow to flash before installing flooring. Lay sheet goods into
adhesive according to the flooring manufacturer’s installation instructions. Adhesive must transfer to floor product to ensure proper
LVT Installation: Apply adhesive with recommended trowel, allow to dry completely, and install the LVT according to flooring
manufacturer’s installation instructions within 3 hours. Drying time is 45-90 minutes and will vary depending on temperature and
humidity. Installation over areas on wet/tacky adhesive can result in job failure. iGrip Adhesive must be allowed to set until dry to touch
(no transfer to fingers).
