When using an electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should also be observed, including the following.

HAND VACUUM.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury.

1. Do not charge this unit outdoors.

2. Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.

3. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.

4. Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.

5. Do not use charger if power cord has been damaged. Do not use cordless hand vacuum or charger if it has been dropped, damaged, left outdoor, or dropped in water.

6. Do not abuse the charger cord. Never carry the charger or base by the cord or yank to disconnect from an outlet; instead grasp the plug and pull to disconnect.

7. Keep charger cord away from heated surfaces.

8. This product includes a rechargeable lead acid battery. Batteries must be recycled or disposed properly. Do not incinerate batteries or expose to high

temperatures, as they may explode.

9. Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.

10. Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair and anything that may reduce air flow.

11. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.

12. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.

13. Do not attempt to change accessories while unit is running.

14. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.

15. Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline or use in areas where they may be present.

16. Look on your hand vacuum and follow all label and marking instruction.

17. Do not use charger with an extension cord. Plug charger directly into an electrical outlet. Use charger only in a standard (12V, 60Hz) electrical outlet.

18. Do not use the hand vacuum cleaner without the dust cup filter in place.

19. Store the cordless vacuum cleaner indoors. Put the cordless vacuum cleaner away after use to prevent accidents.

20. Leaks from battery cells can occur under extreme conditions. If the liquid gets on the skin- wash immediately with soap and water or neutralize with a mild acid such as lemon or vinegar. If the liquid gets into the eyes, flush them immediately with clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes and seek medical attention.

21. Use only on dry, indoor surfaces.

22. Do not use for any purpose other than described in this user’s guide.

23. Do not attempt to use the charger with any other product nor attempt to charge this product with another charger.

24. The battery must be removed from the appliance before it is discarded.

25. The battery is to be recycled or disposed of safely.

26. The appliance must be disconnected from the supply when removing the battery.

It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are a factor which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.

CAUTION: A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of personal injury resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.

ELECTRIC POWER

If electric circuit is overloaded with other appliances, your appliances may not operate properly. The appliances should be operated on a separate electrical circuit from other operating appliances.

SAFETY WARNING

Although your appliance is easy to operate, for your safety, the below warnings must be followed:

1. Do not place the appliance near a heat source.

2. Use the appliance on a stable surface.

3. Do not unplug the adapter by pulling on the supply cord.

4. The appliance must be unplugged:

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

ƒ Before using the vacuum cleaner the cleaner needs to be charged at least 20 hours. To extend the life time of this appliance the battery may be recharged after every use. NEVER FULLY DISCHARGE THE BATTERY.

ƒ Before using or cleaning the hand vacuum cleaner, please always unplug the charger and take the unit out of the charger.

ASSEMBLY, OPERATION AND CHARGING HAND VACUUM

ASSEMBLY

Note: Dust cup filter must always be used when operating the hand vacuum cleaner.

1. To open the dust cup compartment press the dust cup release button and remove the dust cup container (see FIG. 1). Slide the dust cup container forward to remove dust cup.

2. Verify that the dust cup filter is inside, then reattach the dust cup container to the hand vacuum cleaner (see FIG. 2).

3. To attach the crevice tool or the dusting brush to the hand vacuum push the attachment into the suction hole in front of the dust container. (see

FIG. 3)

USING THE CORDLESS HAND VACUUM CLEANER

1. Remove the vacuum cleaner from the charging base.

2. To use the hand vacuum cleaner slide the on/off button forward.

3. To turn the unit off, slide the on/off button backwards.

4. A crevice tool is provided for cleaning narrow, hard to reach places. A dusting brush is provided for cleaning upholstery and furniture.

CAUTION: The suction hole must be open and free of any obstruction at all times. Otherwise, the motor will overheat and could become damaged.

INSTALLATION OF WALL MOUNT

Hold the wall mount on to a spot you wish to install the wall mount and draw drill points through the wall mount holes. Please make sure to be close enough to the next

power outlet to connect the cord. Drill 2 holes at the marked points. Prior to drilling verify that no water, gas or power lines are close to the holes to be drilled. Install the wall mount with the supplied screws and wall anchor. Please check if the wall anchor and screws match your wall type (wood, concrete, and drywall). You might need to use different screws and wall anchors that fit your application better .

CHARGING THE HAND VACCUM CLEANER

NOTE: Ensure that the On/Off switch is in the “Off” position before charging.

A. Connect the cable to the charging station with the power source at the vacuum cleaner. Now connect the power cord to a 120 volt power outlet.

OR

B. Connect the cable to the wall mounted charging station as displayed in FIG. 4. Now connect the power cord to a 120 Volt power outlet. (see FIG. 5)

Slide the vacuum cleaner onto the charging station. Be sure that it is seated all the way in (see FIG. 6).

By connecting the vacuum cleaner to the power source, the charging process will begin.

The red light on the unit will indicate that the vacuum cleaner is in the charging process.

As long as the vacuum cleaner is connected to a power source the red light will

stay on. If the vacuum cleaner is used daily it can be left in the charging station. If the unit is not used for an extended period or not frequently used it is recommended to remove the unit from the charging station and unplug it from the power source.

If rechargeable battery of the hand vacuum cleaner is not fully discharged, it usually can be recharged within 3 hours to reach the maximum capacity. During the charging process the unit may get slightly warm which is normal.

To extend the life time of this appliance always recharge after every use. NEVER FULLY

DISCHARGE THE BATTERY.

For replacement rechargeable batteries see attached order form.

CAUTION: NEVER use the unit without the battery compartment cover in place.

MAINTENANCE

CAUTION:

Always be sure that the appliance is switched OFF before cleaning the appliance or attempting to store the item.

CLEANING THE DUST CUP AND FILTER

1. Remove the dust cup container by pressing the button on the top of the unit.

2. Remove by pulling the dust cup forward, away from the unit.

3. Empty the dust cup from the dust cup container.

4. Rinse the dust cup filter in cold water, and then wait until it dries completely before replacing it back into the dust cup container. DO NOT use a washing machine to clean the dust cup filter. DO NOT use a hair dryer to dry filter. AIR

DRY ONLY.

5. Replace the dust cup filter carefully into the dust cup compartment. NEVER operate hand vacuum without dust cup filter in place.

6. Attach the dust cup container to the cordless vacuum.

7. The housing of the unit can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent.

8. Do not use abrasive powders, hard abrasive scourer or steel wool.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that the Dust Cup Filter is completely air dried before re-installing back into the hand vacuum.

NOTE: It is recommended that the dust cup filter be replaced every three months to ensure peak performance of unit. See attached order form.

STORING

Allow the appliance to cool completely before storing. Store the appliance in a dry location. Do not place any heavy items on top of appliance during storage as this may result in possible damage of appliance.

Store the cord in a clean, dry location away from metal objects. Always check the plug before use to assure metal items have not become attached.

REMOVING THE RECHARAGEABLE BATTERY

In case the battery has reached the end of life cycle (approx. 1000 charges) it can be replaced by a replacement battery. Replacement batteries can be ordered from our

Service Department (see attached order form).

ƒ To remove the battery unplug the charger and remove the vacuum cleaner from the charging station.

ƒ Discharge the battery by switching the unit on and running the vacuum cleaner to a full stand still of the motor.

ƒ To remove the battery open the battery compartment at the bottom of the vacuum cleaner with a screw driver. (see FIG. 7)

ƒ Open the battery compartment lid and pull the battery as far as possible out of the unit. Now disconnect the power cables on the battery. (see FIG. 8)

NOTE: Please bring the used battery to your next recycle station for proper disposal. Do not dispose the battery into your normal household waste/garbage.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

1. Charge unit

2. Check fuse or breaker of your household circuit. Replace fuse/reset breaker.

1. Empty dust cup.

2. Remove dust cup filter and check for object(s) in the air duct and remove. Clean or replace dust cup filter.

3. Charge unit.

1. Empty dust cup container.

2. Review dust cup filter installation instruction.

3. Replace clean dust cup filter.

Rechargeable Cordless Hand Vacuum Cleaner item #7256 was tested and meets our stringent quality standards. This product is warranted to be free from manufacturing defects in original materials, including original parts, and workmanship until May 23, 2006 or 1 year with proof of purchase.

The warranty is void if the defect is due to accidental damage, misuse, abuse, neglect, improper repair or alteration by unauthorized persons or failure to follow operation instructions provided with the product. This warranty does not apply to commercial use.

The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchase and does not extend to subsequent owners of the product. Liability under this warranty is limited to repair, replacement or refund. In no event shall liability exceed the purchase price paid by the purchaser of the product. Under no circumstances shall there be liability for any loss, direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damage arising out of in connection with use of this product. This warranty is valid only in the United States of America. This Warranty gives you specific legal rights. However you may have other rights that vary from state to state. Some states do not allow limitation on implied warranties or exclusion of consequential damages therefore these restrictions may not apply to you.
