A) If your appliance comes fitted with a plug, it will incorporate a 13 Amp fuse. If it does not fit your socket, the plug should be cut off from the mains lead, and an appropriate plug fitted, as below.
WARNING: Very carefully dispose of the cut off plug after removing the fuse: do not insert in a 13
Amp socket elsewhere in the house as this could cause a shock hazard. With alternative plugs not incorporating a fuse, the circuit must be protected by a 15 Amp fuse. If the plug is a moulded-on type, the fuse cover must be re-fitted when changing the fuse using a 13 Amp Asta approved fuse to BS 1362. In the event of losing the fuse cover, the plug must NOT be used until a replacement fuse cover can be obtained from your nearest electrical dealer.
The colour of the correct replacement fuse cover is that as marked on the base of the plug.
B) If your appliance is not fitted with a plug, please follow the instructions provided below:
IMPORTANT
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
Blue:
Brown:
Neutral
Live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black.
The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.

HOW TO USE YOUR COFFEE GRINDER
• Place the appliance on a flat surface.
• Lift the lid. Fill the container with the desired quantity of coffee beans (fig.1).
• Replace the lid.
• Remove the ground coffee container.
Rotate the knob on the top of the container until the container is completely open
(ref.
X - fig.2) to allow the ground coffee to flow freely.
• Pull out the required length of cable and plug into the mains socket.
• To operate the coffee grinder, turn the knob ( H ) to the number of cups of coffee to be ground (fig. 3). After the ideal grinding time, the knob goes back to the OFF position and the appliance stops. NB: The markings on the knob are indicative only as the quantity will vary according to taste, type and roasting of the coffee beans and the degree of grinding selected.
• After the coffee has been ground, remove the ground coffee container and close it by turning the knob. It can thus be used to store the ground coffee.
Important: always make sure the ground coffee container is open!.
TIPS
• Before grinding, turn the coffee bean container to select the type of coffee required
(fig. 4). There are eight different positions.
• The printing on the ground coffee container indicates the number of cups corresponding to the indication on the ON knob. The large cup indicates the number of drip coffee cups, the small cup the number of espresso coffee cups.
• Always keep the lid of the coffee bean container closed to preserve all the flavour and aroma of the coffee beans.
• Grind the quantity of coffee required only.
• Never overfill the coffee bean container.
As a general indication, consider a tablespoon of beans per cup (eg. 4 tablespoons of beans for 4 cups of coffee). Of course, you will discover the optimum quantities for your own personal taste after you have used the grinder for a while.
• After using the grinder, wait at least one minute before grinding another batch to avoid the appliance overheating.
• To guarantee high quality fresh coffee, always clean the appliance after use, particularly if you grind coffee after grinding other foods such as sugar. Use of the grinder to grind oily seeds such as peanuts or hard foods such as rice is not recommended.
CLEANING
• Unplug from the mains.
• Never immerse the appliance in water.
• Remove the coffee bean container completely by turning it and unscrewing it anticlockwise until it is released.
Wash the coffee bean container and lid and the ground coffee container with water and neutral detergent. Rinse thoroughly and dry. To replace the coffee bean container, rotate clockwise as far as it will go and place in the required position.
• Remove any ground coffee residues left in the grinder with a brush (fig. 5).
• Clean the outside of the appliance with a soft cloth.
• When you put the appliance away, wind the power cable using the cable winder knob ( L ).
