Step 2: Enter Carbohydrates Active Insulin Menu E Test strip slot H bG Result 5.8 10:02 3 seconds after your blood glucose result, this screen will appear. Replace the cap on the lancing device. Make sure the notch on the cap lines up with the notch on the device. Adjust the lancet depth to a comfortable penetration level. Start at 2 or 3. For tougher skin, dial to a higher number. Press the priming button in as far as it will go, like a pen. The release button turns yellow when the device is ready. When you are ready, press the lancing device firmly against the edge of your fingertip and press the yellow release button to prick your finger. To prepare for the next test turn the priming button in the direction of arrow (1) as far as it will go and turn back again (2). The window shows the number of lancets remaining. When the ‘Apply Sample’ screen is displayed, use a lancing device to get a blood sample. Apply blood sample to strip. The ‘Analyzing’ screen appears. Your blood test result will be displayed. On the ‘bg Result’ screen you can add information about the Meal Time, planned food intake or Health Events such as exercise. Select the ‘Carbs’ option by pressing the down button. Press the enter button to enter the ‘Carbs’ box. Use the up and down buttons to set the number of carbs you are about to eat. Press the enter button to confirm. Press the right soft button to see the above screen. Press the right soft button again to see the amount of insulin recommended U = single unit of insulin Inject the advised amount of insulin.
