Connect the VCR's video output to the television's video input jack. Connect the VCR's audio output (L and R) to the television's audio input jacks.

You can program the remote control with a code or without a code. For programming with a code, find the code for your component in the Component Codes table and enter the code using the numeric keypad. For programming without a code, follow the steps for the "sequence method".

To activate the closed captioning feature, select the CC mode under the "CC" icon in the menu. You can choose from three modes: OFF, C1, and C2. C1 mode is recommended for viewing Closed Caption.

The V-Chip rating system allows you to block certain programs based on their ratings. To set up the V-Chip, select the "Lock" icon and then "Block programs". You can choose to block TV programs based on the US TV program ratings or the US movie ratings. You can also choose to block NR (non-rated) programs.

Select "Sleep" under the "Timer" icon in the menu to set the television to turn off in 30, 60, or 90 minutes.

Select "Auto Program" under the "Prog Chan" icon in the menu to automatically program all channels with a signal. You can also use the "Manual Program" feature to manually add or delete channels.
