FOXBOX 4G Tx/Rx DVI
Description
The FOXBOX 4G Tx/Rx DVI provides ultra-high performance transmission of DVI video,
audio, and RS-232 serial communications (for applications such as projector control) up
to 150 m (492') (MM models) or up to 30 km (18 miles) (SM models).

1. Connect a DVI video source to the transmitter, and a display to the
receiver via the transmitter’s Input and receiver‘s Ouput DVI
connectors.
AUDIO
2. Connect unbalanced, stereo or mono, audio input and an audio output device
to the units’ 3.5 mm mini jacks.
3. If you want the FOXBOX 4G to pass serial data and/or control signals, such OVERRS-232
FIBER ALARM
as for serial control of a projector, connect the master device to the
transmitter and the slave device to the receiver via three poles of the units'

NOTE For RS-232 responses (from the receiver to the transmitter), you must install
the cable in step 6 and leave the receiver in normal configuration.

4. For remote monitoring of the status of the optical links, connect a locally
OVER FIBER ALARM
constructed or obtained device to the two Alarm poles of the units'
RS-232/Alarm 5-pole captive screw connectors. The two poles are shorted Tx Rx 1 2
together when no light is detected.
NOTE The transmitter's Alarm port reports the status of the Rx light link.
The receiver's Alarm port reports the status of the Tx light link.

5. Connect the fiber between the transmitter’s Tx and receiver’s Rx ports.

NOTE Only the fiber cable in step 5 is required for video, audio, and
serial command transmission.
6. If you want the receiver to send return serial data (such as
Transmitter
responses from a controlled device) to the transmitter, connect
a cable between the receiver’s Tx and transmitter’s Rx ports.
7. If you want a receiver to daisy chain the optical signal to

another receiver (up to 10 receivers in a daisy chain):

a. Connect the receiver’s Tx fiber cable to Rx on another receiver.

b. Set the first receiver's Mode DIP switch 1 up.
